There have been so many of these posts lately, that I just have to comment. Post usually starts as "I have a 325 Widget, and my buddy Bubba has a 331 Gidget. Bubba wants to drag race, but I need to know whether or not my Widget will beat his Gidget first, because if Im not going to beat him, I dont want to race."

All I wish to say, is just go do it, and shut up already! Why debate for days what can be settled in a couple of minutes? Is the idea of losing a drag race so devastating that backing out is more fulfilling? If you cant go out and ride with your buddies, and have a great time, win or lose, then sell your ride and play golf alone so you can cheat if necessary! Among seasoned, experienced riders of all kinds, youll gain a lot more respect by what you can do with your ride, than how fast it will go, anyways. When you climb "The Widowmaker" with your 125cc Widget that Bubba was too chicken to try on his 331 Gidget, people will be lot more impressed, even if you didnt make it, than they will be by the fact that Bubba beat your 125 on the drag strip with his 331. If you want to drag, then go do it, and tell how things turned out. Your likely to get some real surprises. The "this will beat that" debates are so silly anyways, because in the real world, there arent very many consistant answers to that discussion, unless its a total mismatch.

I'm pretty sure my ATC125m couldn't beat a Banshee in a race, but it dosent mean I wouldn't go out and give it my all. (I lost to a 13yro kid on a go-ped on it last week)

I also agree 100% here. I probably would get beat on the drag strip. I probably would also get beat on the trails. So What, Who Cares?
I go out to ride and have fun. I ride within my abilities and do my best to get me and my machine back in one piece. That is the bottom line.

I totally agree with you guys, most of the time its the rider, not the bike who wins the race. Howdy i'm just like you, I love to go out and ride my tri Z, but I know that i'll never come close to being able to ride that thing to it's full potential.

I also agree...the rider is everything. I bet that some people can beat a Banshee through some trails on a 125M if they got what it takes.

I agree 100%, I have always ridden with guys that have higher horse powered rides than I. I always have fun riding know matter what, I don't care if everyone can outrun me. I have fun anyway, now I have the R.
