Not bad ...$150 for an 87 250x roller. Almost everythings there (in a box) minus the motor and carb. I'm gonna build this for my son, I'm not in any hurry,by the time I'm done with it he'll be just big enough to ride it(he's already gettin to big for the 50 we have, and his little brother has pretty much claimed that). He diggin the fact that we can do just about anything he wants....his first "custom quad"...:D.

put a 350x engine in it. you'll have to kick start the 250 for him anyway...lol

Will the 300EX motor drop in there? Give him electric start!

I still think a 300EX motor in that thing will be totally sweet. Nothing like the magic button AND a nice sweet smooth powerband.

Looks like you got a sweet deal. If you need any parts pm me I have a few parts I need to get rid of.

Awesome
I had a stocker and let it go.I loved that bike had it for 10 years. But I got a 250r for it.
I now have one that is beat down but has a strong running 350x engine in it.I am parting out today.Traded the motor for another 250r Trike and sold the roller for 150.
I have the conversion pipe that will be hitting ebay for the 350x engine.Supertrap
My opinion,,If you can do it and afford it,Drop a newer crf250f dirtbike engine in that chassis. That would be sweet.

Crap I cant believe its been two years since I bought this project. The boys have been into dirtbikes more than quads anyway, and it kinda got put on the back burner. I guess I've just got to many other projects... I decided to take a break from the 250R and put this 250X together ( I really just needed the room on the shelf in the garage for 250R parts and this thing was in the way) :naughty: So here we go , got a roller again, two motors in the garage for it ( both need work), some new plastic and she's ready to go...should make a nice spare quad for guest riders at the house.:) I have a total of $600 in it as it sits right now(with the two motors). I'm figuring around $1200 when its done.... I guess thats not to bad for a basically new quad from the frame up.

Na, he likes it, the boys just like riding dirtbikes better, I'll keep it for a spare, but if the right deal came along on a trike.....it's outa here..shens
