He'll post up about 12 pics of each phase of rebuilding it. Also, he'll want others to post pics of their chainsaw buildups.

i have the exact same saw. not that nice though!

start at 1 and a 1/2 turns out for the carb settings

just hope you don't have to pull the carb. the whole saw has to come apart to get the carb out. those damn saws have the worst design. i have 3, i know all about them!!lol

Whats that a chainsaw resto thread? Finely somewhere to post some pics of my dads old 2 man saws. He got these from various people and he restored them. I don't have any pics of any of the resto process but oh well. I thought I had a pic of all 3 sitting next to each other but I can't find it.

You're trying to "polish a turd" I believe is the proper saying. Remember that there's no replacement for displacement. Stick a Quadzilla engine into it.

hahaha well isnt that the definition of over kill but then again a 250 2 stroke in an atc70 isnt far off

i restored a stihl 044 about a year ago. i got it for $100 with the handle broken off behind the throttle. they must have dropped a tree on it.

those sthil 044's are a 65cc motor. the 066's are a 90cc they even make a 088 thats a 137cc

i bought a siezed parts stihl 046 was on ebay for $55. i had to dismantle about 1/2 the saw since the gas tank is biult in with the white housing around and below the throttle that was broken. with buying a new 24" bar for $30 and a couple other things i have only $200 into it.

they are a $500 chainsaw when new. it throws roost out the back about 4 feet when your cutting.

I'm restoring an old David Bradley saw right now like this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-DAVID-BRADLEY-CHAINSAW-CHAIN-SAW-917-60003_W0QQitemZ320133344779QQihZ011QQcategoryZ2053 8QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) Got it from a friend years ago, Should be a neat conversation piece for the shop once its done.

I had one of those little McColluch saws before, used it for 3 years before selling it, Awesome little saws. I've been looking for another for a while now to carry on the trike since alot of the trails near me are getting run down, A deal at twice the price!

Kinda small for a 2 man chainsaw, no?

This is a 2 man chainsaw.
