well my computer moniter fried last week. the picture colors truned wierd and when i went to adjust it the moniter just shut off and started smelling like burnt rubber. so i bought a new 22 inch westinghouse flatscreen at best buy because they were on sale for $179. well the picture looks realy clear and crisp but when i open a program or a new window or switch from one window to the other the monitor shuts off for a second or two and then turns back on. never had a problem with the last moniter shuting off but it was also only like a 15 inch. i need to fix this because its realy getting anoying lol Thanks

hey, have you updated the drivers with the software that came with it? your video card may need an upgrade too. or try calling the mfgs customer service/website.

the moniter did not come with any software. only a little manual and all the wires. and the manual doesnt say anything about my problem.

I had a similar problem when I bought my new monitor and I figured out the video card didn't refresh fast enough, I bought a new card from tiger direct and it solved my problem.

Do all this before going and buying another card!

Navigate to display properties:

Left click desktop, select properties, settings, advanced, monitor.

Default is usually 60. Bump it up one by one till the monitor dont go any higher (it will go black for a few seconds and then come back).

Also try adjusting the resolution.
