I was reading an old post dug back up and it made me start to thinking about a stroy/rumor I saw on the internet, pretty crazy, I wonder if it is true.
A NY man retired. He wanted to use his retirement money
wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal.
The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15yrs.; the owner and
wife both had died, and there were no heirs. The house was sold to pay taxes. There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......so, nobody made an offer on the place. The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in, and set about to tear in to the barn.......curosity was killing him. So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and cut thru the welds. What was in the barn...............?

the first pics show a very strange barn. My barn is not like this by anyway.

It looked as thought the structure is tall enough for a second floor.

Just imagine that...

that reminds me of a story i heard a few years back about a guy buying an unopened shipping container for a few grand and finding it full of 250rs still in their crates. anyone else heard this one? cause i think i'd have a heart attack if that happened to me!

hell Jay Leno bought that Duesenburg out of that old ladys garage, the doors had't been opened in 50 years. He had heard that there was one in there but didn't know what model. It turned out to be an X model. I have heard rumors that he spent well over a million, without seeing it

Well Dang! I thought it was fake but there was a slight thought in my mind that it might of been real.

Not fake, just embellished a tad.

Real story is pretty cool, too. Guy fills a garage and seals it up. Stupid in my opinion, but cool that he has such a collection.

Glad you shared. I haven't heard about it before this thread.

Thanks

That is a nice collection of NICE cars. I can't imagine why somebody didn't break in earlier and take those cars on a JOYRIDE.

I was looking through an old issue of old cars weekly that I have been getting through my dad for years, A lil more info the guy owned a dealership and had been collecting them for decades, people knew that he had cars in there but did not know exactly what it was.
