I went up to NY this weekend to see family again. Saturday night my brother said if I wanted to go see some Flat-track racing...so I went. A good friend of the family's, Abe, had his TRX250R there to compete. I'll try to list all the mods: lowered, Axis shocks, Laegars A-arms, Lonestar axle/carrier/+1 swingarm, AC bumper, AC Baja grab-bar, 330cc PC2000 cyllinder, Paul Turner pipe/silencer, New $100 throttle because the stock one wouldn't give enough gas, New carb/reeds/reed cage, and new, much stronger gears in tranny, Hinson clutch basket, Barnett plates and 95% stiffer springs...
There is much more that I don't even know about. It is the nicest 250R that I've seen (even from any on ebay) since he put about $14K into it. It dynos in the 80hp range he said.
He ran flawless the whole night and took 1st in every race...except for the last. Halfway into it, his rear brakes locked up (not to the point where the tires did too) He was still in 1st and by the next lap the rotor was GLOING BRIGHT RED. He ran 8 more laps like that too and finished in 2nd to a Raptor. We ran down to the pits to see what happened and he said a rock flew up and damaged the piston. Oh well...we all had a good time there and damn I want that 250R
