View Full Version : Good reason to put a masterlink in the tool kit

Well I have been riding for a few decades and never had this happen. I was riding the Zilla and was a few miles out on the trails and snap!!!! the chain went....I couldnt figure out why:wondering ...... then I found this rock jammed between the rear sprocket and the skid.....look how the chain ground the rock down:eek: Well I guess the rock ground the chain down :cry: ...Never heard a thing down there...Luckly a buddy had a tie down and a 4x4.

file it down a bit more get a stone drill bit and make you a new chain guide!

i have always carried a masterlink,,, i have one on the clutch cable just put it together on the cable and forget it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Yeah that's a very good point OC,when I go riding I alway's carry a master in the toolbox back at camp or in the truck but not with me ..To put one on the clutch cable ,as a spare is a great idea..
