So my boss got us new Motorola V190 phones... It is a POS and doesn't even have pictures....

My gf has a Motorola that got left at her work and even though they attempted to contact the owner, no one picked it up and they were gonna toss it so I asked if I could have it.

It's better than the phone my boss has. They both seem to have the same SIM card and contacts. But I imagine it is "locked" to the carrier that that phone was using.

I'm told it can be unlocked and I can use my SIM card on this phone and ditch the phone my knuckleheaded boss gave me. Is there any truth to this and can anyone help or send me to a website that does this sort of thing.

I looked online and there is a service for 25$ but I'm cheap....

Yes you can unlock that phone. Any phone that uses SIM card technology (GSP) can be unlocked. Now CDMA which is like verizon, alltel, etc they cannot be done.
