87 350x??? I'd want to see a engine number before I beleived that one. Nice price for a NOS motor allthough.

ive "heard" of one before....
all i can say is look at where the clutch cable mounts to the motor and compare it to 85 and 86

Looking at the cable holders (tiny pics too) it looks like an '85/'86. the '87 cable comes acrossed the engine, not parallel with it

86 350x's come across the motor behind cylinder. only 85's go parallel.

see the part i circled? thats where the cable routes ( i think)...
see how far it is away from the engine?
I think the 86 was closer to the cylinder and the 85s were completely different.

86 are like in the picture so the cable dont get melted on the exhaust, my 85 has a piece of a Budweiser bear can zip tied on it for heat shield.
the 86 have a total different clutch arm so the cable is on the other side of the motr nowhere near the exhaust.

Yes it is. Another easy way to tell is the 86 cam chain tensioner is long and pointy while the 85 had a short stubby one.
