The carburetor-to-head boot on my 85 BW200 fell apart when I pulled the carb off. The rubber came right off the metal - Now I have a metal bung bolted to the head with no rubber on it.

It is discontinued and out of stock. I can not find one anywhere and wonder what boots would bolt up. I would even change carbs if I could find something that works.

Any ideas where I could find one of these? I am going to call a local bike yard tomorrow but don't expect to find anything. I will also try to reglue the piece but I don't expect that to work either.

hmm. i would try some rubber glue. something along the lines of what was used from the factory......they obviously did not weld the rubber to the metal.

maybe some rubber tire tube repair cement would work. if you get some good stuff(if you know someone at a tire store, they get top notch rubber glue) it is some STRONG stuff.

YTM looks a lot longer, imo. Maybe im not looking at things right though... Maybe something from an older yami 4 stroke dirtbike would be similar?

According to my local Yamaha the boot is only used on the BW200.

Speedandsportinc have found the boot for 125$.

Evidently you have to be very careful working on these yamahas (which is not my usual approach.)

I know that on my 86 tecate, I used a boot from an older KX500 and the angle was different. You may be able to use another YTM but the longer/different angle may cause you to drop the airbox and go open?

yea, I think it would cause the airbox problems. The airbox is wedged in there so tight I thought I might have to drop a shock to get it out.

As long as it is running before the snow falls....

i tryed to repair one on a yamaha xt 500 it lasted five minutes. i think the rubber is molded around the flange. when they seperate thats it. post a pic of it maybe some one has seen something similer...
