1988 polaris Trail boss 250

im not to familiar with polaris motors the throttle responce is slow on take off is this normal ??? its verry noisy but my friend who has owned several polaris vehicles says that it sounds fine even in nutral Throttle responce is slow (like theres something restricting the air or fuel flow ) im used to my 82 ATC250R should the throttle responce be similar between these 2 machines???

Sounds normal to me. My P3's are slower to take off, but the gain speed pretty good. I think the reason for this is that the Polaris's don't have reeds like most other pingers.
