Picked up a 87 250r

Well i picked up an 87 250r, needs a little bit but all in all i think i got a decent deal.

Has leager A-arms, Rpm swinger and axel, works rear shock, newer 400ex fronts, i got a bunch of extra stuff with it, a Paul Turner exhaust and 3 fmf exhausts, Extra swing arm, New carb, extra front plastics, came with an 88 engine that needs a topend rebuild, came with extra brake calipers. few other things. The reason the engine is out is because there was a broken tab on one of the engine mounts

Cool, good lookin bike....but!!!!!!!!!!! Why in the heck did they put 400ex stock shocks on the front?????????????

well 400ex shocks are pretty much the same as stock 250r shocks at least thats what i think i read somewhere.

Yes you are correct they are, but the stock front 400ex shocks suck in my opinion. Once you get it together and ride it for a while and are used to it, learn to jump or even just trail ride with it. Save up your money and get a set of works tripple rate shocks for the front. The ride will be unreal with rear works and a set of front works. But none the less the rest of the bike and parts you received are wicked!!!

Might want to look that bike over again, that swinger looks like a westcoast to me. I've got a set of works triple rate fronts with remote ressies, just serviced about a week or two ago that will be for sale soon. Set up for 180-185 pound rider.
