Ive got a 1987 kawasaki klf 300 quad and the starter motor is no good, it doesn't have a pull or kickstart and is a semi automatic gearbox, is it safe to tow start it with another vehicle, if so how .
With a rope lol
Just make it quick and get it started,
Use a straight bit of road to do it and hope the rozzers dont catch you doing it.

I know how to bump start it, but i wanted to make sure its safe to bump start this type of quad, i've never had a semi automatic before so i dont want it to do any damage to the gear box etc,

It will either start or it wont... no harm in trying... My buddy used to bump start his big red like that for years... just dont kill it in a hole...

KLF300 is the Bayou right?
We've got an '88 and have pulled it with another quad to get it started it a couple times, didn't hurt anything.

The bike already runs perfect, what i'm asking is, Is it safe to tow start a semi automatic quad, I know for a fact that the quad will start straight away i just don't want to damage anything in the clutch by towing it in gear.
