Spring break! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:
This will be my last year going down to the Alabama coast with the track team. Nothin’ beats a weeks of running, Frisbee, and laying on the beach. The cool thing is this year I am not technically on the team (5th year w/o outdoor track eligibility) so it will be a week of easy running instead of the normal hard week (last year I ran a personal record of 101 miles over the week). I can't wait!

02-07-2008, 05:26 PM
hopefully if all goes well - Shelly and I will be buying a Truck Camper (pop-up style that fits in the 8' bed) so we keep our asses dry at trikefest for once!!!!
Should come in handy to have a camper in the truck bed and pull a trailer with the toys - for races and OTC outings and such!
Also - if we have any tax refunds left over - it will go towards paying more taxes:(

Every cent of my federal returns get put directly onto house principal. By doing this over the years it makes the end much easier to see now. Just have to stay focused and do it, and it makes a HUGE difference. One day though, i want to get a nice Tracker Targa v17 boat for a Lake Michigan perch and trout boat. Someday.....

$2500 goes to complete the max out on my roth IRA for 2011. The rest $2300 goes in the bank incase i see something i think i can make $$$ on. I do have some small home improvements that need to be done, but If i don't use it by Nov, it will go into my roth IRA for 2012.
Now that sounds pretty boring.

if you earned 50g what would the return be, and how much does you govt tax you per dollar earned? I pay 21c to the dollar in tax, earn around 55g per year and would be lucky to get 500 back at tax time

That is nearly an impossible question to answer. It depends on what you have your deductions set at. If you have kids, if you had a kid born during the year. If you own your own business and how many deductions you have.
My wife and I have 2 small business along with my normal job. She does home daycare and I run a small diesel repair shop. We can deduct about everything we buy for our house because it is business use.

02-26-2011, 11:30 PM
so, they don't tax you at a pre-determined rate? over here we aren't required to set our deductions, it is preset by the govt. Someone who earns over $100000 pays 48c in the dollar, someone with an income of $25000 pays 18c to the dollar. We can pay more in tax but any additional tax paid isn't seen by the govt as taxable income so why bother, may as well put it into an account and gain a bit of interest on it.

Soon time to start digging a hole, I guess. Hide from the tax man or get a sore behind. Lol. Who knew that $24,000 they said was non-taxable for travel is now taxable for 2010. Oh and for the $21,000 non taxable for 2009 that slipped thru the cracks.
Can you still serve jail time to pay this stuff off. Lol. Plus this non taxable that is now being taxed brings me to a higher tax bracket for both years too. Ahhhhh
