my auto-x is nearly done so now i am going to be looking for a small trailer to get it to where i want to ride, also could use a trailer for other things.

i'd like somthing 5ft wide, but i dont know the standard sizes is there are any. my trike is wider then 4ft so id kinda like a 5ft one.

anyone know of a brand to look for or should i just hit up home depot/lowes or a trailer place...ebay? new or used? i already know have a hitch and wire stuff picked out for the car so in about a month i will buy that.

not sure if i should look at utility trailers or just a flat snowmobile trailer or a back yard creation somone made or a used one?

school me please...nothing longer then 8', a 5' X 7' would be good if thet make them.

They make all kinds of trailers in all kinds of sizes. If you have the coin, get an all aluminum trailer to help with the load placed on your car.

Aluma trailers are very nice. I didn't have the extra money to buy an aluminum trailer and also was using a Durango as a tow vehicle, so the weight of my trailer didn't really matter. I picked up a TWF 14' trailer.

This site has all the different Aluma trailers made, you'd have to find a local dealer to get pricing though.

Look for used snowmobile trailers, most are aluminum and they're usually whats called a "deck over" meaning the floor of the trailer is placed over the tires, which allows for a wider deck.

Good luck!! There are so many to choose from it's not even funny.

Its been a great trailer up to this point, Ive hauled a lot of weight, a ton of times.

EDIT!!!! I know you dont want a bigger one like mine, they offer a couple of other sizes at pretty good prices.

No matter what you decide to get I would get a trailer with normal sized tires not one with those tiny tires. I think most of those small tires say max speed 45.

not sure if you have a harbor freight tools around your area but they offer a decent selection of new trailors for a reasonable price, a friend of mine has the one in the link below but his is black so im assuming theres different colors since this one in the link is red, but it has held up very well, we have hauled alot of stuff with it in the past 6 years, sounds like about the size u are looking for, check em out http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92174

Depending on your skill and sources, most tractor supply places or surplus type warehouses have axles, suspension etc. available that you could build your own trailer exactly to your specs and fitment for the car for only a few hundred bucks.

eh i build the bike i dont want to build the trailer yet haha...i wanna go pick out one, take it home and then go rideing haha.

i looked on line at tractor supply since we got one in town now and they have:

1500lbs gross weight 4x6 for $319 with 12" tires
2000lbs gross weight 4X7 for $509 with 12" tires
2000lbs gross weight 4x8 for $478 with 12" tires
2000lbs gross weight 5x8 for $648 with 12" tires
2000lbs gross weight 5x8 for $769 with 13" tires

if i get a 4" wide trailer i would need to run 200x hubs on my auto-x to cut it down to 48" wide since it sitting 51" right now.

what size tires are better, prob bigger then better but i am not hauling more then a trike or a sportbike (400lbs). give me your thoughts on the 5X8...here is the link. i could pic on of these up in a month or 2.

I would get the one with 13" tires. I don't think it is so much the wieght but the rolling speed of the tires and bearings. With the better trailer I'm sure it has a better axle, bearings, spindles.
