I love muscle cars. My favorite car of all time is a 68 Z28 RS Camaro or a 68 RS SS 396 Camaro. I've been thinking about getting a 68, but I'm probably just gonna go for a newer Trans AM for the drivability factor and I love T-Tops.

Those are my second favorits...I had a chance to buy an AWESOME 70' a couple years ago. Canary yellow, had the 401 in it from the factory. Had a 1200watt stereo in the trunk, extremely built motor (I was told near 500hp) and everything else was good on it, except the transmission which was in the front seat. The bank owned it at the time, but the brother to the guy who had the lein against it got it...and sold it for $3,000...with the transmission fixed. If I would have been within arms distance of that man when he told me that (It was over the phone) I would have severely disfigured him. It was the sweetest car I have ever seen, and I'm still depressed about the dude selling it for $3 grand till this day. Heres some pictures.

Here is a pic of my old 1969 Jav that was sold the day the picture was taken. It placed a silver award at this AMO show. Yes that is a blower sticking out of the hood. The car was a 401 with a 11PSI supercharger. It ran through a shiftmatic auto trans to a Dana60 rear end with 410 gearing. The car was made to scoot down the 1/4 and that was about it. 11.09 was the best I could get it to do. My buddy that drags for a living got late 10's. That was on street tire. Car pulled in over $12ggggggggs

Yeah, I'm into the muscle cars too. I own an original 1968 Z-28 camaro, that is in need of restoration. I plan on putting over $25k into it when I restore it. It should be awsome when it is done.

ford man here. But I thought the first Z-28 was 1969? like the Boss 302 for Trans-Am racing? I have a 1968 Mustang that I am slowly restoring. Got over $7000 in it already and its still a pile of parts.

I LOVE MUSCLE CARS, MY PARENTS USED TO HAVE ALL KIND OF CUTLASS'S THAT WAS BUILT TO THE MAX, MY FAVORITE WAS A

1973 CUTLASS HURST EDITION, w/455, his and her shifter, swivel bucket seats, the motor was pulled and built for drag racing, it would run a low 7 in a 1/8 mile, and they sold it in 1990 for a measly $1500 that will piss you especially when you see the beauty of that car and how much it is worth today....oh yeah i forgot to mention, it was on CAR & DRIVER..

here is a link to a page with the identical car.

I know a guy with a '68 shelby 428 KR500, 30,000 documented miles and all the papers on it, dash signed by Carrol Shelby and Tim Allen. I believe it is an automatic but unsure, yellow with white accents and stickers and tan interior. Here's another one of my favortie cars, although not a muscle car it was around the same time. I want to get one also..

For Pre-80's muscle cars, I would have to go with the Mopars. Remember the DUKES OF HAZZARD!!!!! :-P

Hell yeah, I absolutely love muscle cars. More into pony cars and corvettes admittedly, but anything from the late 60's and early 70's era is cool. The cars that survived (camaro, mustang, vette, etc) are now high tech rockets and finally getting faster then the old ones with less cubes..which is cool anyway.

Somethin real cool though...I got a fulltime job this summer doing wells. My dad told me about a freind at work thats been bugging him to buy his 68-70 (not sure what year yet) camaro supersport...my dad knows I absolutely love f-bodies (i had a 82 for awile and hes had a couple old ones) and made the mistake of telling me about it, so now im putting every nickle dime and cent i can get toward it. It runs a built v8 something or another, supposdly runs mid 11's all motor. I can't wait to check it out and hopefully buy it.

Your book is wrong man. Z28 WAS an option in 67 and 68, it just wasn't real popular in 68 and there were only about 70 (I don't know the exact number but I know it's really small) made in 67.

1969 the 67 and the 68 camaros where either rs or ss which rs = rally sport or ss= super sport no z28 until 69 look in the camaro white book
SS was a performance option, Z28 was a performance option that included a 302 (yes a 302 chevy) so the camaro could compete in the Trans Am racing series, RS was an apperance option that included headlight covers and probably some other stuff. You could have an RS only car, an SS only car, a Z28 only car, an RS Z28 car, an RS SS car, or a base car without SS, RS, or Z28.

well if you are on a tight build a nice 351W. just re-ring it, buy some gt40-p heads and a edelbrock performer rpm intake with a holley 750 double pumper. it will make about 325 HP and 400 ftlbs of torque. that will make a mustang II fly. you may have fitment problems though

200x basket.. a 351w is i think 5 inches wider than a stock 302 and the is like a 1" of cleance on each side of the 302 that was in it... I have a 351w in my F-100 that i am gettin ready to pull again. I mgiht just set ti down in there and see what it does.. hehe

a 351W is about 1" wider and has about 1" taller deck. the 351M is a big block and most likely what you have in your truck

200xbasket. I know my truck has a 351w in it. For sure, i just rebuild it a few months ago.. The 351w has got to be more than 1" wider than a 302.... I might just build the 302 stock back up wiht some 289 heads and a Intake and carb and some headers and go from there

i have never seen a 4 lug car break a lug so i am not worried about that. however i have a 89 lincoln lsc with 11.35" rear disc brakes that i will be swaping on the car soon. since they are 5 lug i will be going with 33 spline stange axles and a spool. the front will also get the bigger disc brakes and 5 lug conversion from the lsc. i have not yet decided on the wheels but i am leaning torward pro stars like on my race car. now if i could just sell all of these trikes and get back to my real passion

It seems as though everyone is a fan. Tons of interest in Mopar, Ford and Chevy but not much in Buick's, Pontiac or Olds. I have a 1970 Olds Cutlass S that I have had since I was 15 years old. When I was a senior in High School my father, myself and a bodyman friend rebuilt the car almost completely. We did it up right. W-31 decals, stencil kit, white racing stripes, red laquer paint with clear 12 coats, color matched rally wheels, new bumpers, etc. It is a factory 4 speed car, with a small block 350 rocket motor. Eldelbrock intake, crane cam, thrush headers, 2.5" exhaust, Holly dual feed double pumper. Car runs real strong for a small block. The sad thing is that with work, wife, kids, dog, house and trikes I never get a chance to drive the thing. In the last ten years, I have probably only driven it 200 or so miles. O well, at least I was fortunate enough to be able to keep it over all these years. I will post a pick of soon. Thanks.
