Need help with 200x kicker

Hey everyone!!!!

I have a 1985 200x project. I have always worked on my 250r's but not the four stroke three wheeler's as much. I took the kick starter apart and it is a gear to gear set up . but when ever you kick it, it doesn't seem to engage??? It well catch every once in a while and turn over but well slip and act as if you miss a tooth. I have read a little about this problem but have not found enough info on it has anyone ran into this prob??? What can I do to fix it..

To get more response next time post trike related questions in trikesylvania. Im almost positive your spring is bad the pushes the ratchet down, youll have to split the cases to fix it, that or the kicker gears are worn.
