for those of u that have been to st. anthony's in idaho, i have a qestion. my father is going with us and he is riding a polaris 500 h.o., i have been told several times now that without paddle tires he will not be able to go anywhere what so ever. can any contest to this? we use this machine to haul anything and everything, in mud and snow and nothing really fazes it. i can't believe he will not be able to do absolutely anything. please give me your opinion. :)

by the way that ride is a sportsman and not a scrambler, and is 4x4.

The sportsman will be fine in the sand.

I have been to St Anthony's. He does not need paddles, but they definatly help. Make sure to air his tires down as low as you can, that will give him better traction in the sand.
