I've herd they have to much power for anything other than dunes and really wide open riding areas.

a friend of mine let me ride his lt500. it is extremely fast

They run great, when set up properly. I owned an 88 and my buddy had an 87. The 88 ran perfect when the stock exhaust was junked for a Bills system. The 87 never ran very well at all. The jetting was terrible, hard to start, etc. The only problem I had with the 88 was the porcelan water pump seal that kept leaking. I have access to a very nice 1989 500 Quadracer for sale right now. Shredder tires on polished aluminum all the way around. Very nice. $3,500.00 in Michigan.
