Yea I saw it...looks are up in the air....but I like the engine! I've never been on one, but hear great things about it ( the engine). I wonder if it will be around the price of a 400 ex?

yamaha also made a new Bruin 350 utility quad that looks just like the grizzly but alot cheaper, I'm pretty sure the yfz 450 costs a couple hundred more than the 400ex.

Yea, 320lbs. if you toss the starter and batt. and install the already avail. Yami. kick starter kit! That is one light machine. Its nice when a company offers so many sport quads to choose from. This pig will be the one to watch! Got to add this to the collection. My craptor was gonna get a 720, it will have to wait another season, gonna go with a 450. The Shee hasn't been getti'n rode much, but thats o.k., its resting.

I'm not sure what to say about that, technicly wise it sounds very promising. Down there weight wise with some of our trikes. Wonder how de-tuned the motor is though. Looks pretty funky though, almost as weird as the V-force.

... but with something just not right ...

I think it has one too many wheels! ;) Seriously, I dont see the "hub bub" about golf carts, every time I ride one, the Yawn factor is definatley huge.

Can you say frame problems if it's that light? I want to see it out for a year or 2 and see what kind of machine it is then...

I agree with Hemi. It is an aluminum frame, right? I would rather sit around a while and see how quickly they break parts or frames before I bought one. In addition, where do they justify asking $6800 for it? You can put a 450 engine in a warrior for half that.

steel frame. It has AL upper a arms though.

if it was 5800 I think I'd be heading to the yami dealer and getting one, 6800 seems a lil too much for it's class.

the rear swing arm is aluminum too. $7000 is gonna be a steal for this quad!!!!!!!!!1

Speaking of that swingarm, did you guys see the pics of the bare frame, subframe and swingarm? The swingarm appears to be a one piece casting! that, my friends, is super trick! The sub-frame may be a one piece casting also. :-D

In the pic below to me it looks like one of those gremlins. remember that movie from the 80s???

heres what I can say on this new machine...

I have a freind, who has been riding for a good long time (probably as long as me, so say 15 years). He rides a decked and very nice 310r, and got to take a spin on one of these machines. Now, this guy is a dyed in the wool 250r nut (though maybe not as much as I thought). He took one for a ride (he has some connections...namely the atvconnection!), and lets just say he sold his decked honda for the yamaha. I do not know how good it is, but if he sold his bike for it, theres something yamaha did right. Maybe it was a "golden sample" for editors and the like to ride, factories have done this before. I think the engine will probably be detuned some for the production machine, but he said it did pull pretty well. The handling was outstanding, said to be better then a decked 250r running TCS suspension (which i find VERY hard to believe).

the yfz 450 frame is steel not aluminum. it has aluminum upper a arms and a cast aluminum subframe. they probably will have some problems with durability. a few riders on other forums have bent lower contol arms.
