Check this picture out! I wish I was born about 10 years earlier, so I could have pioneered the snowmobile jumping videos. That is a 250cc fan-cooled single, topped out at about 45 mph flying over a 2-lane highway!

not bad, i've always been curious...how good do these things jump? seems like the landing would hurt like all hell.

i dont know about ak but when i jumped with my old 250 yammie it hurt like hell when i landed. i loved the air but danm that landing sucked unless you were lucky enough to land in powder. that didnt happen allot for me though.

anyway...ak buddy thats some kick ass air for being a 250 fanner. i never got my 250 to go 2 lanes. but again mine was a air cooled entice 250 lmao. glad to see your having a blast anyway man.

My little 250 fanner hurt like heck when you landed, even though the landing was downhill (formed a sort of landing ramp), but I just took my ZR600 over the jump last night and it was extremely plush. Also, the little 250 took a long stretch of wide open throttle to get across the road, but the 600 you could just tap it coming off the lip and it would easily clear the whole road and then some. I will have some photos of the 600 jumping soon! :naughty:

Rob, thanks for the words of encouragement! It's hard to believe that I used to be really afraid of heights a couple years ago. This is also only my 2nd year riding sleds (even though I've lived in AK for 14 years, never been rich enough to afford one).

lol ak if you think that 600 has no problem getting over a road jump on a ski-doo mxz800 h.o. . ive seen them first hand clear a 4 lane high way. its crazy as hell. id never try a 4 lane. but anyway man im glad your having a blast before you have to leave.

NICE PIC!!

The suspension with these last few years and to date is simply incredible....

Only bad or good part depending on how you look at it, is how unbelieveably fast the sleds are. WAY too easy to go super fast on trails and allot of people are getting hurt or killed.

Saying that modern sleds are fast is a true understatement!

We rented 2 2008 Skidoo 800 sleds in March in Utah and they were incredibly powerful machines.

I equated it to all the power/acceleration of a 1000cc street bike but with unlimited traction and no chance of lifting the front wheel. When the track would hook you had better have a death grip on the handle bars or it would try to slide out from under you :)

Truly fun machines to ride!

Yeah I think that was the model. We stayed at this place and the sleds were part of the package.

The people there are extremely nice. We will be going back again in '09.

They had 30-40 sleds total I think.

If you like seeing what sleds do check out the "slednecks" videos. Slednecks 7 is my favorite.
