after testing an 06 f150, an 03 silverado and an 03 gmc seria, I bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4 door with a 5.7 ltr HEMI. So far I'm really enjoying this truck. If anyone interested I will post pics after work.

I love those motors! just not the truck around them. I had a 03 Ram I bought new, drove it for 8 monthes, that was all I could take.

No doubt there. I love my truck and I'm beginning to hate it cause of the fuel prices.

i asure you all that no one should or needs to be sorry for me. as I said i checked the ford and chevy and I'm happy with the dodge. I like the way it sits it is a smoother ride than the f150 and sits taller than the silverado/siera. also came out to be cheaper. it is a full size truck that serves my needs.maybe there are some dodge fans that will understand... or maybe not, the important thing that you should realize is that a fellow member has a new toy and is happy with it.

man i couldnt say it better my self. thats all people around me are driving now.

e-dog ... if your going to get rapped on fuel cost you may as well go with the power. diesel may cost more but you sure as hell get your moneys worth. id like to see a gas motor pull some of the stuff a diesel can.

I am looking at a 2008 Doge ram 1500 with a 3.6,V-6 manual with 216 horse power,235 ft lbs of torque.Dodge clames a 20 miles per gallon highway,16 city. This is a 2 wd.Not bad.I will pay for gas before taking it in the pants for diesel

WTF???!!! Is this a fuel mileage debate now? The price is the price whether you use 5 gallons or 200 gallons a week!

I said if anyone was interested i would post pics (I haven't taken any yet), judging by the replys my thread has gotten no one has showed any interest other than to tell me what a mistake it was. As i said before I'm happy with it and thats all that matters and since I am the one putting the gas in it obviously I don't have a problem with that. sorry if i sound short thats not my intention. it is to late tonight to take pics but i will post some up tomorrow.;)

Don't listen to them. They are just jealous because they don't own a hemi...
I am a huge diesel fan put from what I hear these new Hemi are some really good engine. I would like to have a 345 hp truck to drive.
Also, last I heard, Ford, Chevy and Dodge don't make a half-ton truck with a diesel engine. No need to buy a 3/4 ton truck if you dont need it...
Agian Congratulation for the new truck....

thanks, i'm already thinking my first add on will be runners so my wife and little ones have an easier time getting in it. also i think mud flaps would be a good idea (sides get prety dirty when it rains).

Runners and mudflaps are a must ...it's almost as important as gas in the tank.lol

Is that the 17'' wheels? If so you're better off. They run "ok" with the 17'' wheels, but the 20's make em sackless. I think your truck will roast em a little...should powerbrake too if I remember right. Can't do that with the 20's tho!!! Doesn't look too bad for a Dodge.

Nice truck. Can you sit three adults on the back seats?

i'm a 240 lb'er and it would fit 6 of me 3 front 3 back with enough room to not be squished in there.

Keep an eye on that tranny, Dodge pickups are noted for trannys craping out. My buddy has a 02 Ram non-Hemi V-8 4x4, 50,000 miles, trannys already giving up.

You must not be tall. I'm about 240lbs myself, and 6'1''....I'm a pissed off sumbitch if someone my size is sittin in the front seat!! And there ain't no way in hell I'd be cramped in the back seat of one of those Dodges with 3 people my size.

72,000 mile runs/shifts great any vehicle can have at tranny go out at any time as the saying gos sh*t happens. i did some research it does not appear that a bad tranny is a regular problem.

no not real tall at all. also the inside room of a chevy is smaller than a dodge and since you are content with a smaller vehicle your above statement must not be accurate or maybe your just not secure with yourself??

and just for the record i don't have a problem with the chevy or fords.

Nice looking truck you have!

I am a Dodge guy myself, gas or Diesel (but more so Diesel).

Looks like a nice clean truck. Is it a auto or manual? You will probably be seeing around 15-17MPG highway with that truck, so enjoy!

(Can't remember who, but someone said they are getting 26-30MPG with their Duramax....sorry, not possible)

It's an automatic 5 speed with overdrive. Right now my in town avg. is 13.5 to 14 mpg. a member from another board mentioned a SCT hand held programer sounds like a computer unit that helps control fuel/power better don't know much about it but I'm currently looking into it.
