i have a 97 300ex and the chain is lose but i can't find a chain tensioner so i guess its gone or was there ever one?

on most of those there is some sort of screw or bolt that you tighten/loosen while the axel is loose to adjust it.

if your riding it your not missing the chain ajuster....you just dont know what your looking for.

the bearing carrier is the chain ajuster, just loosen the pinch bolts anmd twist it in the swingarm

ok so the lose chain is the least of my worries. my front sprocket shaft is stripped so how do i fix this with out pulling the motor apart (THIS IS A BEATER BIKE AND I DON'T WANT TO PUT ANY MONEY INTO IT) i know i should replace the shaft but like i said it's my beater bike

i know what you are going to do so i wont even try to stop you but that thing is only 9 years old and you are going to ruin it for anyone who has to fix it right in the future.

sunstar sprockets are thicker then stock if you order a trx 250r front sprocket....yes they fit and they wont strip out as fast since there are on more of the splines.
