My buddy just got an '89 quadzilla yesterday and we've been working on it since then. It's in very good shape over all and has a freshly rebuilt engine. The problem all began when I noticed the plug cap was fubar'd and it has been snowballing since then. :lol: I have replaced the plug, plug wire, cleaned contacts on the coil, and cleaned up the hacked connections between the coil and CDI. I still can't get the thing to produce a good spark, and it's a botch to start. You really have to get some speed to get the thing to pop, but once you do it runs fine.
Another thing I noticed is the jetting, not quite sure what has been done to the engine or exhaust but it has a 460 main and the stock 22.5 pilot. I'm thinking it may need a larger pilot since somebody felt the need to get a 460 main, but that's another thing once we figure out the spark issue.
