So, i woke up to go to work a few days ago just to find out my catalitic converters were jacked.. MY poor tacoma sounded like a freaking dragster or something..They also got my 02 sensors and brackets..Pretty much took my whole exhaust system.. Toyota wants like 1800 to fix it...Has this happend to any of you? And is there any place i could go to find both cats for a decent price? I could do the labor myself, i just can't find the cats anywhere around town... I WANT TO KILL THOSE CRACKHEADS THAT STOLE FROM ME !!!!! :twisted: Well, thats my vent for the day.. Thanks for looking :(

Dang man - that really sucks. That has never happened to me - but I ave heard it happen locally normally at used car lots. Freaking scum bags!

No man they got under my truck loosened 4 bolts and ran.. I don't know for sure that they knew they were getting 2 cats not just one when they took it..But when i get this fixed ill be sure to weld the cats in nexttime.

I've heard of that happening around here lately. Makes me nervous because my truck is pretty much a sitting duck out where I have to park it. Totally dark section of my street.

Yeah man. Down town baltimore, keep any eye on your truck. They'll roll right under your chit and take the cat while your idleing at a red light. two sawsaws make quick work. Those guys in the city arn't afraid of anything.

That sucks bro, when I lived in Cleveland there were crackheads doing that everyday to people. Their big thing was car lots late at night, they would rob every cat of every car.

cordless sawzalls are the way to go.

just use some pipe, screw the cats. put the 02's back in. if the 02's pop codes with the cats gone, get some 02 sims to feed the computer the proper info without runnin cats. my truck runs better with a few sawed off, and no codes popped.

Yes i have full but been trying to avoid as much as possible..Dont want my rates to go up.. I might have to use my insurance if all else fails..And as far as i know, its illegal for places like upullit to sell cats, But im looking into it.

And is it spelled catalitic or catalytic? Hell i dont know...

Catalytic. That sucks people resort to stealing c. converters! But its not as bad as getting your car/truck cinderblocked, waking up the next morning rimless!

Yeah dopers are robbing them off brand new vehicles around here. In a row of 20 cars/trucks they got every cat. New vehicles unbolt easier I suppose.

LMAO, that's the response I was looking for. Oh, my, got a tear in my eye from laughing and all. But that suxs that your cats got robbed. Just dont put any back on it. Put in 2 resonnators.

I didn't realize they were going that high. I know scrap is high right now. Some people around here are stealing the cable TV wires and stripping them and cashing them in. Junk cars are high too. Pretty soon scums will be stealing cars off of the street for scrap.

Years ago my dad took my Rambler convertible to the scrap yard. All the was wrong with it was a bad ball joint. I was working out of town and he had to move his wrecking yard.

dude go to all the local scrap yards...they are sopposed to take ID's when radiators, cats, copper, brass and aluminum is turned in

You'll have to buy em new if you put em back on. Salvage yards aren't alowed to sell them.
You should be able to get new ones plus installation at a local muffler shop for around $250

try summitracing I just ordered one for a tacoma for $80 shipped overnight. Its not a direct bolt on, but if you have a welder thats not a problem. you could even have a local muffler shop weld'em on...

I just got both mine and installed for 800...THey pretty much took my whole
Exhaust...And i got it all welded up now....Might not stop them but atleast it will slow them down enough so i can put a 762x39 in their kneecap..

Ya need to just put a claymore trip wire on the topside of the exhaust clamp for safety :lol:

Nice who makes these? I could use some of them on my 86 bronco/f250 :)
