hello i bought my 2nd 3 wheeler about three monthds ago an 82 250R it is fun but when i wanna go play in the mountains i have to abuse my clutch the 250 bogs bad up the hills. I can get an 82 cr480 cheap and wanna do the conversion ive been looking for info on the swap on this site but i cant find any thing as far as what has to be done to make it fit there are some metions of this creature and i know that somebody has info on how to do it so could you guys please enlighten me
btw is my alumiun swinger stock is that how they came? this swinger is possibly aftermarket and already extended whats the fatory length of an 82r swinger also it has 2 mounting points for the rear shock the second psition is much lower and i belive it was intended for flattracking

i definitly checked that out but the 81-82 chassis is different all that post says is its less involved

yes that helps so the kickstart will clear the frame or did you have to build an extension with a support? any recent pics with pipe?

Kick starter needs a few bends in it to clear the frame on the down stoke. Other than that no extensions like the '83R will need. Make sure to get a steel kicker, not the aluminum version.

Pipe is tacked together and test fit. I need to TIG it toghether.

I'll finish up the motor mounts for the '83 R guys (another week) and get back to finish the '82 up.
