Picked this up (2007 leftover) from the dealer a couple months back. Never thought there would be a quad in my garage, but it was a gift for my wife. It is a good stable confidence builder for her to learn to trail ride.
She even had it through some pretty deep mudholes on our July 4th ride and did very well.
The only thing I don't like is the electric thumb shifter - I keep reaching for gears with my foot, of course. There is an indicator on the dash that tells her what gear she is in and that helps her out.

Couple amusing observations:

In 1985, the 250 Big Red was the largest Honda utility machine - the 250 Recon is now the smallest "adult" machine Honda makes.

The reverse engagement on the '85 and '07 has not changed. Push the button, pull the brake lever, and shift down. 22 years and Honda has not found the need to change it. "If it aint broke, don't fix it," I guess.

I had a 250 Recon and I loved it. My Rancher has electric shift. I kinda wish it didn't.
