View Full Version : Allright you Old sled buff's, What did i find??--Pics now
Hey,
Got a find here from the dump, It appears to be an Old yamaha Free air twin, dual carb's, Piston port motor, i can only find one number stamped on it, The recoil case assembly is gone,,,dont know if the numbers would been on there, Cant find any Displacement numbers either, i would take a pic but the usb ports on the ol pc are cooked, Anyone have any ideas...??
Narrowed it down to either a 333 or a 340...? its 356 as it sits,, Not 100% on the Free air thing, too much stuffs missing, dose look like it had a cowling or something bolted to the heads,

Here is a fast and easy way to tell if your engine is a free air or a fan cooled.
I I
If the cylinder head fins are running parallel to the ski's I IIIIII I its a free air.
I I
If your cylinder head fins are running diagonal like this. //// //// Its a fan cooled.
kinda figured that, so it is a Fan cooled, Still cant find much, least 340 yamaha's with 2 carbs and 2 pipes...Looks like it will run, no exsessive play, gona clean the carbs and find a coil, n bolt her to the bench..heh
