I've washed my phone 3X and each time I took out the battery, tossed it in the oven on WARM wrapped in foil, dried the battery in the sun and all 3X it was good to go.............. Kinda made me not worry so much about washing the prick

it could work if you dry it out, but as far as actually servicing it, its toast.

If you dry it out and it works, good for you. It's probably not going to work though. I have a friend who buys ruined Ipods on Ebay and then slaps the working components out of each one into a single one, he's actually making profit when he sells the rebuilt ones...

food for thought.

as long as you pop out the battery imediatley you will be fine. they have an auto breaker in them. it will very rapadly flip until it burns out. then it will start toasting. if you get out the battery right away, let it dry and it will be fine.

The battery on an ipod is internal though, and is pretty time consuming to take out without hurting anything else.

yeah i took it apart with a knife. but you coulnt realy just take the battery out it was connected with three wires and you counldnt take them off without cutting them so i left it be. i let it dry for a couple days and it still doesnt work all i get is a do not disconect sign with and an ! mark

One of the easiest things to do when a phone gets wet is to just drop it into a bucket of wd40 and let it set and soak. After about 20 mins or so take it out let it drain and try it out. wd40 is non conductive and will force the moisture out of the phone/ipod.

i was just looking at a schematic. I have never owned an ipod so i figured it had a similiar battery as a cell phone

I have a friend that buy his nano from the apple web site and just send it back when it brokked. 2 weeks later, apple send back a new nano and the old one. he oppen it and got it fixed up. He got a new nano for free!

Yeah but you cant take the battery out. Dont bother sending it to apple, i sent my 60gb video to them long time back because the battery would die after like 20 min and it was $150 to fix, almost could have bought a new one for that  i had a 30 and a 80 since.
