lmao i like how a 4.0 liter is considered a "bigger" motor over there.......*Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* anything less than a 5.0 is plain WIMPY over here.

but the stupid thing is that damn vehicles with much bigger motors get about the same mileage my piddly ass 3.0 ranger gets. BS, the 4.0 ranger does the same as my 3.0, with more power.

Did you all see the piant and mud throwing? They are proud of that crap. I cannot see any court (in the south anyway) convisting me if I jumped out and stomped that trugging prick into the ground.

you know, just so as to not be misinterpreted in other threads...I'm a firm believer in driving whatever the hell you want. friend of mine has an old 80s single cab 454 duelly with stacks. and it's about the funniest thing in the world to drive around in. even if you do measure your fuel in gallons per mile.

but seriously, I feel bad for the guy before me everytime I pull up at the pump. 40 bucks at most for me to fill up...I'm seeing a lot of 100+ stops these days.

me personally, I'd never have a big GAS truck...no point to it to me.

now an oldschool 7.3 early 90s ford...damn those trucks are nice.

I really do not care what people drive. Even if it is a gay ass Pirus. I will not tell them they are wrong as long as they leave me alone. It is funny how they say people will like you better. I have yet to get a dirty look while rolling on my 22.5's

Believe me folks, 4 litres is considered HUGE in the UK and probably Europe in general. I've been to the states this year on holiday and I have to say I'm so jealous at all the cool trucks you guys have over there and your fuel is still downright cheap by our standards. A black GMC Acadia is what I'd drive if I lived over there. Another cool thing about the US is the way you call drinks 'beverages'

Here is a message I sent to them:

Hi there,

While I can agree with a lot of the very good information on your website I must express my opinion on the stop 4x4s initiative. Pleae read fully my message before passing judgement.

I honestly feel this initiative is obnoxious and pointless. I am the owner of two vehicles, one 2006 Toyota Matrix and one 1988 Ford F250 4x4 truck. I'm a service technician by trade so I'm putting 1000+ miles on the road every week. I love my matrix for work, it saves me gas, is comfortable and works well size wise as I travel in and out of the Washington DC area. I totally agree that people should think economically and make wise choices for their work commute. I strongly disagree with the notion that people should be punished for driving larger vehicles. The government should create positive incentive to make responsible choices, not punish those who choose the alternative. Our country is supposed to be a free country correct? How free can America claim to be if our government strong handedly forces decisions on its citizens? The people who drive these large vehicles already pay a premium for doing so because they buy MORE gas which means they pay MORE taxes.

I also on the other hand am an ATV enthusiast as a hobby (something you also probably don't agree with) and I use my 1988 Ford F250 truck (which is well maintained I might add) to pull a trailer so i can go camping and ATV riding. I strongly believe that we can enjoy the earth, protect it AND enjoy off road hobbies. Conservation efforts can provide off roaders with trails and places to persue thier hobbies and protect the enviorment. You'll have to excuse me if I preach a little here myself because there are a lot of people who refuse to even try to understand ATVs and ORVs and would like to see all of them gone permenantly.

This is our hobby, just like bicycling and tennis and rock climbing are others peoples hobbys. I don't start groups to rally against rock climbers because they're erroding the precious rock faces as they climb them. I have yet to join a group to protest the bicyclists who insist on being treated equally on the road but yet they constantly break traffic laws that they are bound too just as motorists are. I think tennis courts are ugly. They should all be shut down because they are an eye sore and I can't stand that constant thwak and shuffle noise in my ears. Most of this is mere satire but I use it to display a point. We all make choices good and bad and we should be free to do such without being pursecuted for them. Alliance Against Urban 4x4s is just that persecution against people who choose to drive these vehicles.

This sort of attitude is unacceptable and I think thats why I can not agree with your initiative.

Thank you for your time.

How about this? I write them and say, Hey I agree with you. My big truck comsumes way too much fuel and I cannot afford it. So, I will ride my three wheeler instead.

I bet they would come unglued and scream about it being dangerous.

hey Louis, i think that that site is based out of European countries.
but that was a well thought out letter, nonetheless.

and i think European fuel is really expensive because it is the government trying to limit the amount of people on the road, not that the oil costs them that much. either way, its asinine, and it shouldnt be that way.

Top 10 reasons not to drive an urban 4x4

1. You're not a farmer-- I was one does that count?

2. Your family fits into a saloon car or people carrier---I like saloons they have beer WTF is a people carrier? Is it curable?

3. You will breathe cleaner air--Smog hangs lower than clean air doesn't it

5. You won't have to lie to your grandchildren--About being gay.

6. You will be less likely to kill a pedestrian--Quit walking in the road

7. You might see a small child early enough to avoid backing over them---Why do you want to avoid that? Its bonus points.

8. You will be less likely to injure people in other cars--Screw the others, Its all about me baby

9. You will have a better time driving---Your soul on the other hand will cry

10. People will like you better--See #8

There are a lot of people who look to other countries for guidance. Like pot heads use Amsterdam as an example of legalizing dope, and anti gunners use England as an example for banning guns. What makes me sick is these douche bags do not take into consideration that this is neither of those countries. We are our on separate entity. What we do or what they do is irrelevant in relation to each other. That being said, this “movement” over there will intensify the one that is already in place over here. There are already nut jobs running around burning Hummers and vandalizing sports cars. The European nut jobs will add fuel to the fire of the American nut jobs.

Sucks to be a bunch of people that think fun is telling what others are doing wrong with their lives.

I have a short temper. If someone came up to me and gave me a "fake parking ticket" the least they would get is a fat luggey(spelling) in their face. I have no patience for ignorance (other peoples).

I do not understand why so many of these groups form in the public and make their noise yet the larger majority who disagrees does nothing. Take the protesters at military funerals for example. When I was growing up if that happened, I guaran-freaking-tee they would not leave the area under their own power. Now every one tolerates that sort of crap.

on an unrelated note, a guy had the nerve to ask me for a gallon of gas at the gas station tonight. he had a brand new can from walmart and a bag of stuff.

unfortunately for him, I had just gotten off of the phone after a heated argument with the ol lady, just got off of a 9 hour shift, and had my cell phone short out while it was charging.

I swear, even I feel bad for the things I said.

What kills me is the scum like that over in the UK is why trikes are no longer made. How can a machine be blamed for a stupid rider. All of us who ride with some sense suffer because little Johnny jumped on a machine way too big and fast for his skill level with no safety equipment and got smeared into a tree. So what? One more dumb ass my tax dollars will not have to support later. I cannot stand it when others blame the machines we enjoy or use because they cannot take responsibility for their own actions.

I used to have a 4.0 v6 ranger, it got 14-15mpg on a good day. I now have a nission frontier 2.? 4 cyl- 22-23mpg and f350 7.3 diseal- 14-15mpg, ~11 mpg pulling my 20' enclsoed trailer. How does a truck twice as heavy and bigger motor get nearly the same mpg??? One thing that these people will have to start thinking about with their gay ass hybrids is the battery cells that have to be replaced ~ every 3 years. The cost for the batteries alone is something like 4g's, installation, disposale fee and probably some kind of other epa/hazardious material fees will bring you over 5g's.

I can't stand these groups, peta, alf, elf, that auto group(above), anti-choice/abortion and similar groups. They call violence, destruction, vandalism, harassment and public humilation as a just right for them and they shouldn't be charged. How many fires did elf cause, destruction/vandalism from peta/alf. The ant-choice/abortion have there own catagory, they do all above, bomb the clinc, protest the clinc, humilate the doctors/employes, label them are murderers(humilatation) and should I add kill people in the process of destroying/bombing the clinces, making them murdereres also. And it kills me, they think they should be able to get away with it, since they think they are doing "gods" work. I highly doubt "god" approved to murder, vandalism, destruction and self rightious groups.

Awesome. I built a 460 for my 77 F-150 4x4 4-speed.
Zero decked block, bored, 10 to 1 pistons, ported C9 heads with hardened seats and new springs. .545 lift 220 228 duration at .050 cam, L&L headers, roller rockers, dual 3 inch exhaust, Edelbrock air gap intake, 750 demon carb etc. Runs good. Hauls a 3-wheeler just fine. ha ha.

I have often wondered why no one has taken the same games to thier door step.

I don't see why any group/person with self respect would want to stoop to their level. If someone/group did, they would play it out, as to make them look worse and get more against them. It would be like a splap in the face for returning their games.

To be honest, I do not see these liberal sacks of trash as the real problem. Would they have anything to use against us if it were not for the sorry ass rednecks that dump trash in the woods? There are plenty of people with a real lack of responsibility and sense. There are some trails in South Georgia that I love. I like them so much we are considering relocating there. During the summer time the river is down so low the whole area is an awesome place to go ride. The problem is there is so much trash dumped out there you literally have to steer around it the whole time you are riding. Is it any wonder there are no trespassing signs popping up every where. It is getting to the point where the land owners are packing just to keep us out. At one time they welcomed riders on there land. I do plan to organize a clean up when I get back home. But I fear it will be too little too late by then.
