ive been slowly restoring my 1978 kawasaki kl250 and is it worth cracking the cases and replacing the bearings? casue they have never been opened up. thanks tim.

Is it a four-stroke? If it is, and the engine always had a good amount of oil in it, wasn't left out in the rain, etc, I would just leave it. Unless you're planning on making the engine some sick race engine, which I doubt, it'll be fine.

On a two-stroke, it's always advisable to replace the bearings, especially one from 1978.

its a 4 stroke and the engine is in decent shape, and no i plan to leave it stock. i dont think ill crack the cases then, thanks tim.

The only question I have is... who is Tim? :lol: :lol: That sure as hell ain't my name.

Also, you might want to set valve clearances on it, though. Buy a gasket set if you can, just in case.

haha i ment thanks and then put my name im tim lol, and i have a gasket set, rings, valves and valve seals on the way already.

checlk them. if they feel tight (NO PLAY) then let em be. if there even a little loose, replace them since its half apart already.
