Hello everyone; I have been visiting this site for some time now, and finally decided to take the time to register. I have been an avid snowmobiler for over 35 yrs., but recently purchased two vintage 3 wheelers to restore. I feel these must be very rare, because I have yet to talk to anyone who has ever seen one like it . They were built in the eary 70's by a Co. in Sheyboygen falls Wi. by the name of Feldman Eng. They are called Mini-Brute and are of the rear engine design with a f/g body that covers the the entire engine compartment and continues under the seat area and over the front wheel. They have a transaxle drive with 2 speeds forward and 1 reverse. The engine is a CCW400 2 stroke with electric start and uses Salbury clutches much like snowmobiles of that era. I have sales brochures that state they are capable of speeds up to 60mph. The one is 100% complete, and is simply in need of restoring. The second one has been rolled and had some frame damage and body damage, and is missing a starter and carb. I went to work on the damaged one first, and I am making one good one out of the two. The second one will simply require finding those parts and redoing the f/g body and repaint. Feldman Eng. is stiil in business and make products like the Jiffy ice auger for ice fishing, and other custom machining. As I said, I have sales brochures and will post pictures when I can get help from my son to do that. Please respond if any of you have seen or ever heard of these 3 wheelers. Thanks , Wayne

Here you go. Mini Brute

I like it. Kinda of a cross between a Vette and a US90.

I remember seeing one of those on ebay for sale awhile ago. I like the different look much better than the mudbug style of 3 wheeler. I hope those are argo 6 wheeler type tires on there. If they are, they will be a little easier to get than the honda atc90 tires, or at least cheaper. I look forward to you posting pics of your wheelers.

Those pictures of the sales brochurs are like mine, but mine has the bigger 400cc motor. I was not aware that they made a smaller 140cc model. Wayne

Just thought I would update my previous post to let you know that I made a mistake when I stated that mine have a CCW400 motor. It is actually a 300cc CCW motor. I had'nt worked on it for a while and got my wires a little crossed. Did get a chance to work on it this weekend though, and am just about ready to fire it. Sure hope it runs. Once I get that done it will be ready for the body to go back on. I have not yet mastered putting photos on the site, so please bare with me until I get help, or maybe I could e-mail to someone and they could post for me. Like I said before, I have two of these machines, and probably will not take the time to restore the second one, so if anyone interested, I might sell the unrestored one. Thanks to everone who responded to my post, it has helped me get back in the groove, and get this unit done. Thanks Wayne

Mini-Brute update; Good news, it runs. Had a terrible time getting the carb to work, but finally got the neddle valve set right . Still running a little rich, but I think I can get that worked out. Got the body on yesterday, and got every thing hooked up but the brakes. Sounded like rain for Sunday, so figured what the hay lets take her for a spin without brakes. Thats a scary thought isn't it. This thing really rips. In low gear, I gassed it good going up the gravel drive, and done a wheelie. Went out in the street and put it in second gear and it really got to book'en then decided to foul a plug, so I pulled her back into the shop. Maybe today will get the brakes adjusted and then just need to finish the lights. Have an issue with the front fork hitting the speedo cable so will have to work on that. Once again thanks to all who posted and I promise I will get pictures. So far no rain today, so I will try to take some shots this afternoon. So for now, best of three wheel'en and as we say in the snowmobile world keeper ruber side down. Wayne.

Thanks e-dog for posting my pics. Trailrider, I do have a second machine that I can get pics of with body off, but it is buried back in the corner of the shop. If I get it uncovered I will take a few shots. Thanks again for all the replies.
