I was waxing the truck and the 3 yr old wanted to help out. I wasn't paying to close of attention till it was too late. She waxed the running boards  which are plastic with a texture. The wax (white) now looks bad and I'm not sure as how to remove it. Heat gun? some liquid remover? Could you auto detailers help with a suggestion?

Try a soft bristled tooth brush. It will also work around trim work on your truck to help gut the was buildup in tight corners or chrome trim and such.

try some Wax and Grease remover.
soak with Goo ( i think that is what its called, removes tape residue and such ) then pressure wash.

sounds odd but try creamy peanut butter. I've heard that it works pretty good. A little goes a long way. If its black try Mothers Back To Black.
good luck

I wonder how well running from the stove to the truck would work. Boiling water can do some wonderfull things.
Sand blasting will lossen it.shens
Goo Be gone works great.
