Is this legit?
Ad indicates this is a Limited production 1990 model?
Emailed him but haven't heard anything from him.
Nice looking bike but I don't have an extra 3k hanging around.

I'm 99.99% sure that is not a 1990 but instead a 1985 350X. To quote Southpark, "one fourth of the American population is retarded". The guy doesn't know what year it is because he doesn't know what he has. But I can guarantee you he's been on ebay and has seen what a pristine condition 350X sold for once and now that is what this one that he prolly got from a neighbor or friend is worth. Email him and ask him to post a picture of the model sticker if he's so sure it's a "limited" production 1990 350X. Cause if that was actually the case, that thing would be priceless! LOL!

I had to send him a message- he is just too clueless!!!

Dude,

It's a 1985; not a 1990. The CPSC consent decree went into effect in 1987, The 1986 model was white - and that was the last year produciton. 350Xs were only made in 1985 and 1986, Yours is a 1985.

Hope you can find time to correct your ad for clarification purposes.

It's like the guy on craigslist who was selling a 1990 Tecate 4 but it was a 1985 Tecate 3 converted to a 4 wheeler.

Either way, still a pretty sweet looking ride.

I find on CraigsList many people don't know what year trikes are. I have sent messages to many people saying they had the year listed wrong, which in my mind can change the price. The 200x I just bought was listed as an '86 but I could tell by the pics it was an '84, so I wasn't expecting an '86 when I went to buy it. The funny thing is the '84 sticker on the neck is still there lol.

Whats that in his garage? Are those 2 Saabs or BMW's?

Stupid is as stupid does  A little research and he'd know it isn't possible.

I've been on the board since 1998 and I haven't found an 87 350X or 250R yet. Only an SX, 125M, Bigred and 200X............ I guess we should be thankful for those :D

I emailed him to double check the year and was nice as possible. He was very nice as well and went and checked on it. He emails back and said he has to correct the year because it is indeed a 1985 and he is the original owner. He has the title and bill of sale!! Wow. He even said when and where it was bought. Still a little steep on price but someone might find that worthwhile enough to pay it.

Wonder why he didn't respond to me....maybe i didnt say the magic words?
Anyway...
Here is a good brainteaser....if he has title and bill of sale yada yada, how do you "accidentally" type the wrong year and portray as Limited Production.

Another question....what's it worth to you?
I am curious to know how much you'd buy it for.

Here is the first email he sent me.

I think you are correct. I am looking in my titles as I think I still have original purchase papers from Honda. I bought it new and thought it was a 1990 for some reason. I am going to check serial No#'s.

I find it amazing that I have had this this long..Too many toys. Nice unit. Runs great-Fast. Needs good home and someone to enjoy it!

here is the second

I located original receipt for 3 wheeler. It is a 1985 ATC350XF #Ser# JH3TEO806FM015626
Purchased from Seminole Honda on 4/25/87.

I have title and original papers.
At least this clarifies date ogfg.
Thanks Mike

I think he just tried to go on memory and he's had it so long that he probably forgot. If I had the money and I was in the market for one of these I would probably pay $1500-=1800 for it in that mint condition and with him being the original owner with all the papers and bill of sale. I'm sure there are other people who would pay more. He is asking a bit much for it but that thing is like brand new so i'm sure it's worth it to someone. It would be like buying a brand new 350X off the showroom basically.

Thanks for sharing that...sure does look nice don't it?
I'm not inclined to pay that much either, I was toying with the notion of offering 2k for it but I'm a bit impulsive. I have 7 trike projects in my backyard now along with 2 boats that are nothing different than ongoing projects...
What the hell would I do with a bike in that condition? Wax it?
lol
