New Toy!! Outlaw

Just got this today! its an 06 500 got it new. Any one had one of these or any opinions??

Yeah my buddy smokinwrench off these boards has one. He bought a new troy lee predator, then as soon as the outlaw came out he rode it once, and bought the outlaw and traded off the pred. He is gah gah over his, he really hasn't had any complaints about it.

I'm not sure of all the diff between the 500 and 525. I only got a chance so far to take it for a spin around the yard. Will head to the atv park this weekend. Smokinwrech what mods have you done to youre's so far?

A buddy that I race with races one in our XC series. He does very well, and hasn't had any trouble with it, at least trouble that's not his own fault. Looks like yours has better shocks than my buddies, I don't think his has Fox shocks. He didn't like the stock tires at all and replaced them quickly.

Ya stock tires are trash, even the razrs on my 525s, no point in paying extra retail for tires im gonna throw out anyways. My new outlaw should be in soon, i prefer the straight axle myself but the 500 should be a good bike.

I atarted out looking at the KTM 450 , Than looked at the polaris outlaw 450 with the KTM motor and straight axle, the dealer had this for the right price. I am unsure abought the endependant rear. This will hopfully work for what i need. I also orderd the White Bros dual exhaust and intake kit for it.

I just looked at one fo these tonight.. They had it on sale for 5500.. NOt sure if that is a good price or not.. It is a 2008 500.. not the 525. Is thata good deal?

They did NOT make a 500 IRS in 2008. 500 runs about the same as a predator I test drove one when they first came out but wasn't willing to trade off the predator for it. Now the 525 is unreal on power wish it had the Fox shocks but I have these dialed in and they are good. 2006 had Fox shocks.

For mods I have a full ALBA exhaust, KN clamp on A/C nerfs 15 tooth front sprocket.

I guess i should have gotten the 525. But this will be fun I hope. Smokinwrench Thanks for youre opinion. I want to run a couple races with it. I'm too old and out of shape to be serious so I hope it works. I appreciate all your advice and responces.

The 08 and 09 525 has fox shocks, podium's up front and podium x on back of the straight axle , fox's on the rear of the irs too but im not sure what model ones. I thought they were a real good set of shocks for trails and they handled jumps well, my new 09 outlaw is in right now and im waiting for my razr 2 tires, ill post up pictures when i get it its a 2009 outlaw 525s (had an 08, got stolen id post pics of whats left of it but i have a lg shine flip on bell, dont know how i think it cost $).

The dealer had it marked as a 2008 500 though. We just went to look at ATV's for my youngest son last night and its still marked that way. The one they have shocks look different then the pic above.. this one had small resveroirs on the front shocks.

Are you sure its not just a 525 special edition, there black with reservoirs on the front end.

Thats exactly what the shocks look like.. But didnt have 525 on the side either.. The controls arms were silver as well.

well im not quite sure then, the 525's only say it on the tank and the special edition has gold arms so it may have been a 07 500 leftover?

I am going to there this week so I will check to see what it is exactly.. I know the shocks are black and gold.. I thought the controls arms are silver.. The bike is marked a 500... SO I have no clue.

Well I toke it to the park today got to ride it 10 min. Somwhere a wire came off lost the ele. was riding with freinds so I went back and pulled the 23 year old 3 wheeler of the trailer and went riding , it did'nt let me down. Will take a look at it tomarrow ( I can see a ground cable hanging down). Maybe next time I will get to try it out. O yea I got a pull back to the trailer from a Big Red.
