Has anyone ever been to Silver Lake dunes in MI? Or there is a area in Oklahoma as well but I can't remember the name.

Living up in Ma, we don't have anywhere legal to ride let alone any impressive dunes. I would likr to try and take a trip in the fall to somwhere a little closer than California and was wondering if anyone has any input.

Anyone want to go?

Silver Lake is fun, but not as large as the other places out west. I am not familiar with riding areas out east, though, I do know that some of the NY guys know of a few places to cruise up there.

There are 2 dunes parks in Oklahoma. The Little Sahara in Waynoka http://www.waynoka.com/littlesahara.htm which is about 1,400 acres with large dunes, and Beaver Dunes up near the panhandle http://www.bvrcowchipnews.com/Beaver%20Dunes.htm with smaller dunes and mostly sandy trails. Camping is available at both parks, and Beaver Dunes has a small lake.

we go to little sahara several times a year but i just got back from st. anthony idaho. let me tell you there is no comparison whatsoever. little sahara is 1,400+ acres with 70 to 90 foot dunes. st. anthony is 25,000+ acres with 800 to 1200 foot dunes. if you plan to take a major rode trip i would consider idaho. riding is free and camping is very nice to primitive. consider this, you are about 85 miles away from yellow stone also, the senery is like no other and the weather is cool.
