I just picked up a 250 Timberwolf 4x4 ,I cleaned the gas tank out and cleaned the carb .The 4 wheeler was sitting for a few years ,it was my friends grandfathers .All no dents in the frame or bumpers ,nothing is bent and has the original tires with good tread left .The battery died and he left it in the barn (no pull starter or kick starter).I put in new gas and jumped started it and it ran ,I took it for a ride and it only shifted in to 1st and 2nd gear .When I tried to go into 3rd it would not click in ,their is no grinding noises or other noises when I shift .Any ideas what it could be ,any help would be great ..........Thanks ,svo58

clutch adjustment, maybe? Do a search for a beartracker or timberwolf clutch adjustment, and if that does not turn up anything, I may have a manual around here somewhere. It is the nut and screw on the left side of the case that is used to adjust the auto clutch.

Hope yer gears aren't busted..............

Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong with my Yamaha 250 4x4 timberwolf .Someone told me that it was the reverse switch ,I replaced it and no help .There is no noise when I shift into 1st and 2nd grear or reverse ,it shifts smooth .Was this a common problem with the 250 Yamaha's .Again any help would be great .Thanks
