I know that its not a threewheeler but it has threewheeler parts on it lol. this is my drag mower. its a toro mower frame with a 110 honda rear axel grafted on to the frame and a 750 4 cylinder honda street bike engine on it. the front axel it the stock toro flipped so it lowered it 4 inches and it has racing kart tires and wheels on it. the first pic is when i started. i will get a recent pic up soon.

I have had thoughts of building something similar to cruise around the dunes on... where do you plan to drive/race this thing at?

i have actually seen something like this done. the rear end will not hold up to a 750 engine. i would get something a little beevier for sure. i guess my motto is over build it, and it may last a little longer.

just my 2 cents. good luck!!!!!!

i dont know what wont hold up on the rear end i machined a solid steel sprocket hub for the axel that allows the larger street bike sprocket to bolt up so the larger 570 chain will fit. here is a recent picture of the progress with the engine mounted.

i have got to say that thing look very interesting. if you made a solid steel hub for the rear sprocket, that will for sure help. you should be ok then.

like mentioned above, be sure and post up some vids and pics of some roosting!!!!!!!!! it will be a handfull. by the way kzrider forum has done a couple of these with the kz100 engine and some 750's.

good luck !!!!!!!!!!!

I imagine they are refering to the excessive scrub radius and the lack of caster.. what works well for turning sharp at 7mph on grass is usually a good recipe for poopy pants at higher speeds..;)

Maybe you can use a Hyundia Excell rack, like this guy.

build something like this, youll thank me in the end. Also, i dont recogment using lawnmower type tierod ends, they fail far too easily. the stock gear to gear steering boxes on most all lawn mowers, are junk. Redo the entire steering setup just like you would on a gocart, youll be thankful you did.

i spent a lot of time looking into modifying lawn mowers to do well over 50mph with a simple mower engine, let alone a street bike engine.

If you need to know anything about how i would setup the steering, pm me.

Neat! I started to do the same thing a few years ago. I was given the mower and bought the motorcycle. After I had the bike stripped down I decided it was in too nice of shape to part so I put it back together, now 8 years later I am still riding the bike. I'm still tempted to get another bike and try again though, for some reason a mower with a huge motor sounds like fun.
