I have a 1992 Lexus sc400 for a work car. I drive it 90 miles per day. It has 158,500 miles. Waterpump has been leaking since mid summer, I didn't want to replace it because it is a 10 hour flat rate job. Well it finally went out so I tore it apart yesterday. I had to disassemble the entire front end of the motor. 4 hours later I had it apart and everything cleaned up.
What was amazing is everything is original, waterpump, timing belt, plugs, wires, rotors, caps. The rotors are cracked from the carbon build up being so big on the caps that the rotors hit the caps. Ends of the plug wires are rusted. All of this and I have been averaging 23.7-24.3 mpg since I have bought it. No one has parts and warehouses don't show any on inventory so I have to wait till Monday to see when I can get parts.
Makes me wonder what I will get for mpg after I get it tuned back up, it is already a super fast car and it had parts like this in it.
