K car!!! The legendary K car, how many head gaskets have you put in it so far? I did my buddie's, at least they're not to hard... That's a good buy on the Truck, if it runs it's worth it, I dont know if it would be wise to put any money into it, but I don't know the mechanical condition of the truck. Those of you wh ridicule the thing, maybe you should realize that some people can't afford to drive a better vehicle...

Ford vs chevy...what a idiotic topic. I drive both of them. I am one of the most gm loyal people you will ever meet too, but extenuating circumstances force me into a ford product. Im not going to bash either product like so many other 12 year olds who have NO CLUE WHATSOEVER do on this site. Your truck has alot of work to be done, and you will learn alot along the way if you go through with it. Just keep at it and you will have a decent rig someday.

86 200x: we had to pull it home b/c all teh clutches where burnt up in the Auto Tranny witch i rebuild myself..

Kyle: It is a 78 Xlt they had Square head lights.. But what dont make since to me is my F-100 has a 78 Cab and Front clip but has Round and its a F-100 Custom and my Dad has a 78 F-250 Ranger that has Square.. So the customs and just plane ones had round and Special one like the XLT Ranger and stuff had Square 79s where all square like you said. You should try to find XLT parts for these trucks...

HEMIChallenger: 265,000 miles and no rebuild!!!!! it smokes alittle but thats the Vavle guide seals, It not runing right now b/c it jumped timeing and it needs new plugwires... i am gonna replace all of that stuff.. When i first got the new tranny in it ran really good.. I think its worth fixing since its a 4x4.. I got a 73 F-100, and 76 Cobra 2 i can drive too just gotta fix them first.. hehe

As for the Ford vs. Chevy argument, it is so stupid so dont even start. No one will ever win but...... It will be my Mud and weekend driver once i am done..
