Bought two new pistols. The first one is a Hi-point .380. I know some people hate Hi-points, but this gun has impressed me. It was only $135 new. I have shot about 50 rounds through it, all flawless. The 2nd is a Keltec P11 9mm. I have not shot this one yet, but love the way it feels. It was $269 new.

I have spent nearly 500 in ammo for all my guns. Have you guys been stocking up?

Almost everything I own is big bore. :D As long as you consider .44Mag big bore I guess. I'm a single action nut. Especially Ruger Vaqueros. Although Uberti is tempting me with the new open tops. Now I currently have a H&R 45-70 that I plan to ream to 45-110 and I am dreaming of a Sharps Replica falling block in 45-90 or 45-110. My hero is Billy Dixon who hit a Kiowa warrior at 1538 yards, shooting with his Sharps on June 27, 1874 at Adobe Walls, Texas. That's 4614 feet or almost 9/10 of a mile WITH OPEN SIGHTS.

Billy, check out the new Kel-Tec 9mm, model PF-9. Only .88 inches wide, can be outfitted with a belt clip, pinky extensions on the mags etc., and shoots great for a concealment gun. I have shot the P-11 and it is good too, just fat and with less accessories

I posted about it a few weeks ago and I think I posted the link.

I love SA's too. I have more fun shooting my Uberti 1860 Army than anything else. I checked out those open tops, beautiful!

well went and picked up an stag arms AR-15 before they dissappear will get a pick of it next to my brother in laws suppressed one as well next time im in the safe. should have done it yesterday. as well as he picked up a converted AR-15 to M-16 full auto we cant have a selector switch here in CT so it is full auto all the time no semi! its a hell of a way to spend money with the .223 cases just hitting the ground faster then you can say cha ching! was looking at the Kahr 9mm as my new carry piece. very cheap, hammerless so even more compact as i am a small guy! as for revolvers holly crap my family has alot of bigbore revolvers the smallest being the .22 long case the proper name has slipped my mind at the moment! So what does every one carry and what does everyone like as their range pistol the same or different? i personally keep the same carry piece all the time and obviously switch range pistols and rifles often. wish the P-90 would fit on my side!

Do a search on a Taurus "Judge" .410 Revolver. 5 shoot .410 or .45 LC. Sweet.

Tri-Z ripper asks...... "So what does every one carry and what does everyone like as their range pistol the same or different?"

Carry? Kel-Tec PF-9 or Glock 27- Range? Kimber Custom II (stainless), Glock 17L with a bunch of goodies, and Browning Buck Mark.

There is a reason that Hi-point is cheap. Junk. If you find a good one, it's a rarity.

45-70 and 45-90 ain't too bad on recoil. The 45-110 is like getting hit with a hammer in the shoulder. The 45-120 makes a .50BMG feel soft. And I ain't going into the bad @$$ stuff. Worst I ever felt was a Ruger #1 in .458 Lott.

A 50-90 is what Billy Dixon shot to hit a Kiowa warrior at 1538 yards, shooting with his Sharps on June 27, 1874 at Adobe Walls, Texas. Billy Dixon and 27 buffalo hunters were surrounded by more than 500 Kiowa and Comanche warriors, spurred by their “medicine man” who convinced them they were invulnerable at the “white” shots. Until Billy knocked an indian off his horse at 9/10 mile with open sights.

Already got 300$ down on it. First thing I'm getting a quad rail for it, vertical forend grip, tactical sling and a reactive sight.

SRT Supply here in FL was doing those DPMS Panther Lite 16s for $699 with an A2 upper before all the Obama Hype. Decent little guns for about 800 bucks out the door.

I just picked up a custom made AR from Anvil Arms in Lakeland FL. They build GREAT weapons and accessories, but are a bit overwhelmed withh all the panic the election has caused. They're a mom and pop type business, after all.

I went with the OD green stocks and yes, that is my initials laser engraved on it. I couldn't resist....

You dig?

Not at all new but the crowd control utensil was out and about recently and I figured it'd be a nice little addition to the thread.

Its a Winchester model 97, and is true GI issue. This was originally issued as a trench gun in the first world war (first shotgun ever issued to GIs) and gained notorious status and was so effective that the axis government actually protested its use in the battlefield  They were also carried by MPs for prisoner transfer/oversight. This is also one of the very few models of shotguns to have the "slam-fire" capability where you can just hold the trigger and the pump action unloads, reloads, and fires it as well.

There are stories of single guys clearing entire towns and routing groups of axis soldiers out of the areas by themselves with this thing. Its a really awesome historical firearm really.

Yes, holic- The Ithaca 37 WILL SLAM FIRE! Anyone handling shotguns at all must remember this, because many will do that. I had a Franchi shotgun that I ended up sending back to the company cause it would fire when chambering a round. Pretty spooky on an autoloader. Whoa...

So I've been looking for a carry gun since I got home last month, but not really prepared to shell out $400+ for anything at the moment since all my funds are going to my track. A family member gave me this little .25acp "mouse gun" for pocket carry, which is really all I'm looking for at the moment. I'll upgrade to probably a Walther ppk or something similar when the $$$ allows. Not anything special, unless it being a saturday night special counts  But its better then carrying dry for the moment ya know.

Thats a sweet little pistol. Have you had a chance to shoot it? How many rounds does it hold?

Billy Golightly
12-15-2008, 11:24 PM
It holds 7+1, which for as short as the magazine area is, its fantastic I think. I haven't got to shoot it yet. I just finished taking it all apart and cleaning/oiling the innards this evening. The grips need to be soaped and scraped, thats about all I haven't done. Its really bad rusty on the other side, I don't know how it got that way other then the family member I got it from said he always carried it in one position and it actually wore holes in his jeans from carryin it so often, so I'm guessing the rusty side was up against his leg and got a lot of sweat on it more then the outside.

billy I have that same gun only goldplated, idk the brand but mine looks the same. The one I have jams every other shell, you get one shell off, and that's it. Accuracy is decent to about 12 feet, then the rounds go rogue for the most part. I've actually held the gun six inches from a 2 inch vine, fired, and completely missed the target.

It's a good little gun for the pocket though. Favored by mafia types around here 50 years ago... Apparently a shot to the back or front of the head will not exit...seems like they would have wanted to collect their bullets after, who knows?
