I'll be interviewed by a local DJ in the morning about my zoning hearing for the track and what the plans are for the place if it gets opened back up. I'll see if theres some way they can record it and I can maybe post it back here for some of you guys to listen to later on. Wish me luck!:w00t:

Heres what I've got for talking points on the radio tomorrow morning, things I just want to hit off on.

Radio station talking points:

Mention home made video from the first race on youtube Live Oak ATV search words.

About the project. Almost 1 mile long winding motocross track on an 80 parcel. Already permitted and open previously, but closed over a technicality out of our control. Practice a few days during the week and weekends. Hold actual events and races about once a month, self contained camping available for people.

Riders background and lifestyles. Very family friendly sport and activity. Families traveling, racing, and training together. Well to do people with very expensive motor homes and enclosed trailers they travel with. Great camaraderie with other riders and racers, everyone would give you the shirt off their back to help you out.

Economic Impact to the area. People visiting for practices or races spending money on fuel, hotels, food, or anything else they need. At a race that had 120 riders, x3 people for spectators your looking at 350-400 people total over a period of about 2.5 days, each person spends $20 a day locally (which is a very conservative amount compared to some of the data I've seen in studies) thats about $18,000 going into the local economy over the course of just a couple days. Very much needed in this time.

Only local area to ride and practice at for area ATV and dirtbike owners. It is a legitimate sport, and people should understand that the people interested in it need a place to go, just like the skate boarders just got their park in the city. And the less local people that have to travel out of the area to go ride and race, the more money will be spent here in the county.

Additional activity and interesting place for locals to visit even if they don't ride. Spectating is a lot of fun for people that are not real familiar with the sport and even those that are. To see what these riders and racers are capable of, it is really amazing. I promise that anyone who has never seen a motocross race in person will not leave without being impressed.

Mention home made video again.

What's the station you will be on? Do they have a live feed online?

Its WQHL, 98.1 FM here in Live Oak. I don't think they have a live feed, let me check around on their website and see.

Way to go Billy! Nothing like a little free air time. Be prepared for a few pointed questions. Sometimes these guys like to play the devils advocate a little just to cover all of the angles. Good luck with it. :beer

Went really well, didn't get to record it, bummer :( But I hit on all my points, mentioned how the skaters got their skate park recently and the riders and racers in this area need their place as well. DJ is a great guy to chat with and was very accomodating.
