Anyone have a taillight off their 450R? Was thinking of mounting one on my 250R to update the appearance with the new silver plastics...

I'm member number 20 on that site. :w00t: I got a particular dealers first ever 450R back in Jan of 04, I had just bought a new 400EX in 03 but put money down on the 450R 6 months early to get the very first one. I sold the 450 in late 05 to buy an 06 but got the Harley and another 400 instead.

If you put a newer quad front master cylinder and aftermarket rear brake actuator on too, it will also function as a brake light. I was going to do that on my R.

Did you end up using the light and not making it a functional brake or just not do it at all? Interested to see how it would look..

I never got around to getting it hooked up, as I sold my project before I got there. The light should work as just a normal taillight with proper wiring. For brake light functionality, I bought an 04 Raptor front master ( which will improve front brake power anyway ) with the brake wiring for like $10 on ebay. For the rear, my local cycle shop guy could get me an aftermarket brake light actuator that you just zip tie to the frame in a location that allows some part of the rear brake pedal to contact it during use and it would light the brake light. All told, it would have only been about $50 to have complete front and rear brake lights on my R. Wish I could tell you how it worked, but I just never got there.

This thread will give you an idea what to look for for the rear brake setup for this project...
