Cows have been around how long and this is JUST NOW a problem? Please. Makes you wonder about some people...

Kinda funny if you think about it though, cows being blamed for global warming. Cows get blamed for everything.

or they could quit freaking out and legalize marijuana. I'm allergic to the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro, but even I realize the potential tax benefits...not to mention it produces a TON of fresh oxygen.

That is so stupid, if they actually go through with it all big farms, I mean 800+ milking head will be out of work in a heartbeat, think about it, 1000 cows at 175$ a cow, ouch......

I have over 1,000,000 head of cattle within 60 miles of me.
Also the smallest dairy in this area milks 4,000 head 3 times per day with the largest dairy milking 10,500.

One is just 10 miles north of town local farmer built it from the ground up. he sold it a couple years ago, I was told it is the largest dairy in Kansas and 5th in the USA. The biggest barn is 1/2 mile long. Here are some pictures I found of it on the net none showing the biggest barn. http://www.ceresagrar.com/Locations/Photos-Cimarron.aspx
He is one of the biggest farmers around here, I think he is down to about 150 employees now that he sold the dairy.

The rest are in feedyards we have hundreds of them around here ranging in size from a few hundred to 150,000 is the biggest locally. Here is a generic picture I found of one. http://whyfiles.org/246e_coli/images/feed_lot.jpg

Keeps the 4 local packing houses supplied.

We also have center pivot sprinklers I have been to several traing schools and the guys from other areas of the country had never heard of such a thing. Yep we water our corn around here. http://www.bigvalleysod.com/images/sprinkler3.jpg

immaging the price of milk when alot of the smaller farms go under from not beign able to pay the taxes! its pretty bad i know a few farmers that scraped runnign useable tractors combines and othe rimplameents to pay for fuel to make hay this year! people dont realise that if they woudl tax cows ther ewoudl be no milk at 10+ dollars a gallon ther ewoudl be no steaks or hamburger! and las tbut not least is ther eis no farms ther eis no produce so it woudl totaly screw theonly industry that is majority the business that is still kept within the country! i say hell elminate taxes on fuel for farming and trucking for demestic items and let us use our own products and become a self sufficent country again!
