This is my truck. A 1995 Ford Ranger with a 9" lift, 6" suspension and 3" body with 32" tires. Its got a 4.0 v6 pushin 300hp and a 5 speed tranny. I have had the lift on for a about a month now and Im still not happy with it so its gettin the Solid Axle Swap to acheive a 15" lift and either 36" or 38" trail digger tires. If anyone on here has done the SAS to their ranger please dont hesitate to post up there pics and/or advice to it.

what's done to the motor to get it to 300hp?

i would assume its the over head cam 4.0? so stock thats about 210hp, intake and exhaust would bring you near 300

90 horse out of intake and exhaust??? Please, MAYBE 40 on one of those...I'd say probably realistically 25. Being it's a 95 it's more likely to have the cam-in-block 4.0. I'm not even sure if they offered SOHC in 95.

Agreed Something else has to be done if it actually has 300 hp.

Yepp it has the OHV motor. Its Bored .30 over, with a custom grind cam forget the numbers I will have to look at the receipt but the idle is badass doesnt even sound like a v6. 66mm throttle body with spacer, bigger injectors, cermaic headers, 3" single exhaust into a dual 2.5" outlet super 40 with NO cats, port and polish on the heads, K&N open filter, Jet power tuner, and 8mm wires with bosch +4 plugs. Stock on the motor is said to be 160-165hp

those mods on a small block v8 dont add up to 300...especialy if stock was about 1/2 that.

I always wondered why the v6 trailblazer had more torque and hp than a v8 f150...

Some 6s run really hard, idk about those as my cousin dale has the same engine and my 1.5l will stomp his ass in a drag race and top end.

LOl my 94 ranger with a 3.0 running off of 5 cylinders must be pushing 250. Lol just joking nice truck though we love the one we have. Its a bit under powered but rides nics and is great on gas and great in the snow. Its going in the shop here in a couple days think I gotta stuck valve.

I've got close to the same mods on my 70 chevelle with a 355 sbc. performer intake 800 carb, ceramic headers 3" side pipes, hei ignition 8.8 wires, port and polish on 2.02 double hump heads wild cam and stiff valve springs and ie got close to 450 in it. Ive been around motors for a long while gettin 300 out of a 4.0 isnt to hard hell ive seen one pushin 450 close to 500 with a supercharger on it.

Ever drive a 300 six those motors only have like 150 horse but nearly double that in torque. They are darn near impossible to kill too.

Thanks! Like I said its not done but its gettin there. Seems everytime I do something to I wanna take it off and go bigger. Plans are to have solid axles with a total of 15" of lift with tires done before the 4 wheel jamboree coming up in may here in Lima Ohio.

I've got more than the cam. When I get the new axles I will have in dynoed. With all the mods to the engine its not to far to push 300. Im only addin 135hp. I also run a 50/50 mix 92 octane with a 110 octane.

My mechanic just came to get mine we heard a rap on the bottom end along with the miss, oh well time for a rebuild. Do you still have the auto hubs on yours I converted mine to warn manual hubs and they work great. I would suggest it to anybody with the automatic hubs.

Yupp got the manual-lockers. Never been a big fan of the auto-lockers.
