Been doing this for about 6 years. Lots of fun and makes Winter go by faster.

The Renboni, that is the best! As soon as I saw it I knew what it was and started laughing. And 70s ice racing, that sounds like that would be too much fun. I have a good sized back yard, but it is kind of one big slope. Why can't I have cool neighbors like you?

That's awesome, what do you use under the ice to do that?

Its called a silage cover. Used on farms to cover feed. Basically just a big piece of plastic. Its 5mil.
Awesome Seabass!
Also, didja see the game tonight?! Timmy was awesome in the shootout!! Bruins win again!

pain in the ass to maintain. when it snows, you gotta clean it.
and around here, it doesnt stay consistently cold, hardly ever.
that is cool though!

Thanks for the compliments!
We have alot of fun out there.
And believe it or not I really enjoy maintaining it.
The Renboni idea finally came together for me this year. I'd been trying to come up with something self contained for a few years.
The key to good ice is clearing off the snow asap and HOT water. Makes for a good hard surface. And of course cold temps.
The Bruins are rollin along nicely. How nice would a Bruins/San Jose cup finals be?
Thanks again.

I might try this next year. How thick is your ice?

Right now its about 5 to 12 inches thick. But its prolly about 2-3 inches over full. Can not under state how important a level yard is. Water is real heavy.
