This is a dirt cheap upgrade to your suspension of you Z. This shock probably retails close to a grand. Its a little nicer than the $600 plus dollar one I had custom made for my Z from works.

Of course it will be stiff for anyone thats knows anything about suspension. If its set up for a +6 arm its definetly stiff. For the price its insanity cheap. You could send it to works for a freshen up and valving and still be sitting pretty.

so i guess you have a +6 swingarm now?! that'll help you keep the front end down!

yes that was a good price. i bought a works for my lt250, for $90. needed a rebuild. i personally don't like works shocks. they are made cheap. plastic bushings in the pivots which don't last a few rides! i've bought new front works for my lt500r, best steelers they had, and the front end has an inch of play in the shock bushings. i would recomend an elka if your gonna pay a grand on a shock.

Were a works dealer. I get a $1000 dollar shock for just over $600 bucks. And mine doesnt have any cheap plastic pieces you speak of. Spherical bearings in both eyelets.

maybe they've updated them then. i have 3 sets of works shocks, 2 sets of fronts and 1 rear. and they all have plastic bushings with steel sleeves. the fronts are steelers and the rear is a quadstar, i think

also on the fronts, there is no top out bumper, so if the springs are a bit stiff you'll hear a bang every time the shock extends. i've asked around before and thats normal! it just doesn't sound good while your riding!
