Everyone loves to talk about the nicest ride they ever owned, but what about those Shitty rides? Mine was a 1980 XL125. If it had been any slower it would have been stalled. When drag racing 50cc bikes, I had to be on my game to win. This is what it looked like.

When I was younger we had a couple late 70's / early 80's John Deere sleds. They were fast and fun when they were running but it seemed like my dad would wrench on them for 3 hours so we could get 30 minutes of riding time before something else would break lol.

Well My first POS was my '78 RM80. That bike was completely obsolete when I got it. Next in line would be my Yami DT400, not because its a beater, just that it WAS hard starting.(I fixed it up last summer. starts good now) Current POS, the T3.(cracked sub-frame, parts missing, ugly. You know the drill)

Hmm.. most every machine I've owned was a POS as I never paid more than a couple hundred bucks for em.

My 84 Suzuki LT125 ATV was terrible... slow as hell, all the tires leaked, and someone had put this fake snakeskin cover on the seat... ick

My 84 LT230 shaft I bought literally in boxes... put it all together but it was never right, plus the whole front end was bent up and couldn't be alligned right lol

My 73 Kawi F11 never even moved. Was a POS when I bought it, tore it all down to rebuild, got halfway, traded for my 250r

I've had tons of pocketbikes and scooters too; all Chinese POS'es; even new lol

I had a Yamaha Blaster that I spent more time kicking it over trying to get it running than I did riding it. I swore I'd never own another Blaster, and I haven't!

My $50 DX, half of the parts are missmatched from a 200, smokes worse than a 2 stroke running on wal-mart brand oil, and the clutch slips. But, it does run really well considering the other problems...after college(when I have a job and $$$$) I'm gonna rebuild it.

Hands down, 1987 Yamaha V-Max snowmobile. It had all the aftermarket goodies because it was an ex Eagle River race sled. I traded a perfectly good 84 200X for it and thought I was really getting a great deal. NEVER get an ex race sled! That SOB literally broke down every 15 miles! It was fast when it ran though.

The worst I had was and old 1980? arctic jag. Thee was no hood or seat. The skidoo would take about 100 pulss to start and the metal cleats on the track were out of line and the track would jump th cogs. Also there was no thumb throttle. You would steer with your left hand whule pulling on the exposed throttle cable with you right hand. She ended when the throttle cable was frozen one morning. I sat on it and pulled it over. It took off bucking me off when it hit a rock and struck a 12'diameter tree at full throttle. destroyed the fiberglass belly pan and cracked the hood. Also the base of the motor craked with the impact.Took it home, welded it up and put a bravo motor. Ran that around for a month or so and just sold the parts..The saddest rig I have seen myself.

My worst trike was a 1986 200x that I traded a set of golf clubs for, the trike sat under a tree in my friends yard for many years. I got it running but 1 of the exhaust studs was broken so it ran like crap. Everytime I tried to fix something on it the bolts would snap:mad: I sold it for $400.00 so with the money I put into I just about got my money back.

How about a car? 1992 Pontiac grand prix. Things are always breaking and leaking and everything on that car is horribly designed. You have to unbolt and move the engine just to take out the spark plugs. Total POS

About every bike/trike i own is a POS. They always break...

Do backhoes count??

I bought a 1969 Dynahoe Backhoe with a 3-53 diesel. The engine was the GOOD part, it was the rest of it that was junk.

None of the gauges worked, it would stop running about every hour and you'd have to prime it to get it going again. Later, I found this to be a chitload of pine needles stuck in a 90 degree bend of a fuel line :(

Every leak I fixed, brought upon another leak. Everything was so huge and so heavy that it would take 4 people to help remove and install parts. The chrome was gone on the shafts and the bushings that supported those shafts were shot.

The flywheel had 3 teeth missing. it was hit or miss when I tried to start it (of course it started like SCHIT!) so each time it failed to start, yet another tooth was damaged. Can you imagine contemplating removing a 1000lb transmission to fix a flywheel??

The last straw was a MASSIVE hydraulic leak underneath that was near impossible to fix. It would drain about a gallon an hour when you ran the machine. To fix it I would need a wrench set from 2" and up just to even begin attempting the repair.

I SOLD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1983 200e, it was a POS, ran great until I changed the spark plug and found the hole was stripped by previous owner. Then of course the rear bearings didnt work, chain fell off every few minutes. Got so pissed I rolled it down a cliff and got it the year afterwards. Rebuilt the rear end and chain and right now it goes good.

Big Red POS is its name.

Other is my red Honday Gyro, never idles and always dies. POS too.

Worst was my 250r, redid the bearings and seals on the bottom end, smoked, never idled, sold it to a friend and he ended up giving up after a 1100.00 bill on that engine. I heard the new owner just put a new engine in it.

Rest of my stuff is gold.

The biggest money pit car I had was a 1980 Chevy pickup. It had a damn good Goodwrench 350 but it went through three trannys. I bought it from a sand and gravel company. It had over 300,000 miles on it. I got all the company records when I bought it. Come to find out it had a broken frame.

My biggest POS I had was my 2nd car, '95 Mercury sable. Drove it for 4 months in collage, struts went bad(common) tranny slipped like a mofo, speedo read anywhere from 10-25mph off, fuel gauge didnt work, didnt always start, rocker panals were falling off, wheel bearing went, and a number of other things. In 4 months. POS

1984 Ford Bronco II. I paid $600 for it because I wanted the C5 transmission from it for my Explorer project. The fenders were all rusted out, the passenger door wouldn't open from the inside, the fan didn't work and the dash and center console were all sticky. I drove it for part of a summer when my good truck needed repairs. It was dubbed the "Brown and Sticky". I had to improve it and fix the above concerns in a timely and effective manner. So I cut the roof off and painted it camo! I also cut out the fenders, took the glass out of the front doors and made those into half doors. It then was known as the "Brown and Sexy"! The day I was mounting a set of 33" BFG mud terrains for it (there is no lift on the rig...), the engine blew! I have another engine for it, and the A4LD transmission from the Explorer will go into it. It's an incredibly crappy rig, but I have so little money into it, it makes a great beater wheeler and it's a good spot to put all my less desirable parts.

Sorry I don't have a better 'after' picture, but you get the idea of what I do to things...

Do note that it now attracts pretty girls!

Out of 30-something machines in the last 27 years: '01 Warrior. Took it in on a trade deal.

Don't get me wrong, it looked and ran as good as new, but heavy and slow.....no redeeming qualities to speak of. Taking into consideration that I've owned many machines I've never got to ride and I ranked a running Warrior the worst should tell you how I feel about it.

the biggest lemon POS I have ever had was a Suzuki LT160... It was new when we got it, and it had nothing going for it.. It wasnt fun to ride as it was slow, ugly, and handled like chit.. It was useless as a utility machine as it was too small, heavy, 2wd, and unreliable..

my old 9? rm80, i would have to replace the head gasket everytime i rode it, the water pump seal was bad the fluid was always milky, the cylinder was rewelded, and the case had a crack at the drain bolt, the plastics were sprayed by some idiot, this bike never ran properly, near its end the clutch kick starter and stator went and she was un ridable

Biggest was my 2004 arctic cat 4x4. Just fell apart. It was held together by plastic rivits and the tranny blew out of it. Next was the chinese pitbike I had, just a complete POS. No explanation needed.
