I'd prefer to see that the starter had been pulled once just prior to listing it so we know the thing will turn over. If its never been pulled it could be tighter than something that barely moves.

"The only way you could achieve an engine rebuild that would equal the quality of this engine would be to buy every part new from Honda!"

"I pulled the clutch side cover, fly wheel cover; bead blasted and repainted them factory silver (they both where scratched from years of shelf wear). NEW gaskets were used for reassembly."

I dont mean to sound like an intelligent donkey but i just dont associate NOS with primer and paint. I always like seeing NOS car fenders, quarters and such on ebay that say 'it had slight surface rust so i put primer on it before the auction' Either way its a very nice motor and i hope that it was in dry storage for 20+ years and runs great for the potential buyer, TC...

The clutch is gonna be crap...regardless. unless it was COMPLETELY drained of oil.

maybe not 8...but it'll definitely go higher than the paltry sum that I threw at it.

The head has one copper washer, and is missing one of the acorn nuts and a regular nut instead.. Has this motor been opened?

Wow good eye, i wasn't looking that close but the description would justify that little issue...

I was under the impression there was always two regular nuts...every 70 motor I've seen has had the two in the same spot.

Granted I've only seen....8..... but still

lol....I've just been outbid. TWICE

like Kasey said honda didn't chance to green gaskets until the mid 90's so that either a rebuild or at least been apart...

With prices like that on a small motor, makes me think it may be time to sell my NOS 250r and 350x motors.

So would you say it's one of the donated school engines? Didn't schools tear these apart & put them back together for training purposes back in the day?

Anyone send him a message on ebay about the gaskets? I'd be curious to see what he said...

he is asking $1000.00 for it ... or atlest that is what he told me in an email i sent a couple days back ... I have a few of em myself ... was curious what they were worth ... an yes .. most likely these did come from high schools ... I have 15 350X engines 1985, and 1986 ... 2 ATC 250R engines 1985, and 1986, and 2 1986 200x engines and 2 185s engines .. all of mune did come from hich school shop classes but the schools I got them from didin't have small engine classes so I was assired upon my donation that none of the engines were ever touched ... they all had carburetors, and the 350X engines all had the stator plug, and carburetors, and the oil cooler and decompression cabls and clutch cables.
