Need advise on exhaust(4 stroke)

I'm trying to get one of my project bikes ready to drive soon I have gotten all the parts I need except an exhaust which is very hard to find. I'm pretty sure this bike was only made in Canada for a few years. It's a Yamaha xt200 same motor as tw200 and bw200. I was wondering if it was ok to put an exhaust off a litttle 50cc pitbike or something like that( i do have the header, just need a muffler). I don't know if it's a big deal with using different exhausts on 4 strokes but I have used exhausts on two strokes from small and bigger machines they were from.:wondering

Too much restriction,it will work,but you will have the power of a 50cc :P

lol so what range of cc should i be looking for an exhaust. I have an xr600 exhaust but i'd say thats too big. Would something like 125cc-350cc work?

Your xr600 exhaust is probably too big to fit the room you have for the exhaust on the xt200,but for performance it will be ok,probably need to change the mainjet to help.But the best will be a 200 - 250cc exhaust.Check on ebay you can maybe find something cheap.....xr200,xr250,atc200.....

Well I do have the xt200 exhaust but the spark arrestor was ripped out of it and it looks rough inside plus theres some small holes under neath. I has the xr600 exhaust on already fit fine.Tons of room.
